I do not have a power mac pro 2014 5.1 so I did not test the SSD on this model of computer, but since it is a SATA SSD III, I think it should work with any computer that has SATA connections. It works with all of my computers, having motherboard of Shuttle, Zotac or Asrock.

I didn't use a mounting kit. The drive is so light that you can use Velcro or double sided tape and stick it to any surface inside the PC.

Why not, it's only going to be the speed of sata 2, however still faster than normal hdd. Yes it will work with sata 2 backwards compatible

SATA was designed to be backwards compatible. What this means in your case is that you can certainly use this SATA III drive with that motherboard but you'll only get SATA II (3Gbps) performance from it, as dictated by the motherboard specs.

Yes.  That laptop just uses a standard 2.5" laptop drive so this will swap with it just fine.  You will obviously have to reinstall Windows after the swap though.
