It is approximately 1 inch wide and 2 inches long. I order to give you the exact dimensions would require me to tear into my mobo which is not possible. exact dimensions should be available on crucial's website.

check with your manufacture to see if it work. I bet is if your machien is not ultrabook and made before may 2014 will not have this M2 slot

I don't have a mac book pro, so I can't tell you for sure. But, I made a mistake in ordering this SSD thinking that it will work with my Dell XPS 13 (2015 edition). My laptop takes 2280, and not 2260. As you probably already know there are many dimensions to the M.2 ssds. I wasn't careful, so I ordered this one by accident. So, I would check the specs on the macbook pro. The specs should also be printed on your existing ssd from the macbook if there's one already installed.
