Great HDD

Seagate Desktop HDD ST1000DM003 1TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Seagate Desktop HDD ST1000DM003 1TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros:Β - fast - quiet - stable - cheap ($69.99 on ShellShocker and various sales) - fast delivery I bought one of these for my first ever computer build. Once I had it installed and working, I saw the same drive come up on a ShellShocker deal. I bought one more then and set them up in RAID 0. A few months ago they came on sale again and I bought another. No longer running RAID, but have them set up with Windows Backup and a bunch of file duplication / redundancy. Haven't had one issue with any of the three. They're super quiet too, especially on little rubber footies in the case. My computer is 6' from my bed and runs all night. No noise.

Cons:Β None yet

Great TV

LG 47” Cinema 3D 1080p 120Hz TruMotion LED TV with Smart TV and Six Pairs of 3D Glasses – 47LM6700
LG 47” Cinema 3D 1080p 120Hz TruMotion LED TV with Smart TV and Six Pairs of 3D Glasses – 47LM6700

Pros:Β - Great picture - Great value (bought for $799 on ShellShocker) - Great looks even when turned off (thin, silvery...awesome!) - Smart remote is novel

Cons:Β - Smart remote is difficult to use when trying to type letters in. You have to point at individual letter, so any hand shaking is an issue - Really brutal signal connection strength. It loses the connection almost every time when trying to run HD content via Plex. I just use a flashdrive to watch movies now because the Plex connection is so buggy. A shame...kinda defeats the Smart TV idea...

Good Router

D-Link Amplifi HD Media Router 2000 (DIR-827) Wireless N600, Dual-Band, HD Fuel QoS, Gigabit, USB SharePort Mobile, SD Card Slot

Pros:Β Had it for 8 months now. Have only had to re-boot it twice. Very quick even with 3+ cell phones on Wi-Fi, two computers downloading (also via Wi-Fi), and streaming HD content on the Smart TV (Smart TV running on 5GHz, all others on 2.4GHz)

Cons:Β Gets really hot! I have a special table that hides the router between a hidden shelf under the top surface. The top of the table gets *hot* from the router, even though its a 1/2" piece of wood! This may cause issues in the long run...we'll see.

Does what it should

Rosewill RDRD-12001 - 2.5" or 3.5” HDD / SSD Drive Bracket For 5.25" Drive Bay, Black

Pros:Β Had it for a year. Haven't touched it since I installed it. Does its job nicely - its a bracket. Nothing more, nothing less.

Cons:Β None

Good and loud, works great

LG ND4520 iPod Docking Speaker
LG ND4520 iPod Docking Speaker

Pros:Β - Cheap ($49.99 on ShellShocker) - Looks awesome! I love the asymetrical look - Battery and AC options are great to have - Good range - Very loud (even in a large room)

Cons:Β - Had no trouble setting up my Nexus 7 on BlueTooth, but haven't been able to get my Nokia 920 to link to it. I have a feeling they may be competing to link to it? Not sure. I'm sure its not an issue, just a consequence of the device only being able to handle one BT device.

Overall Review:Β I would definitely recommend this speaker. The reviews I read online said it wasn't loud enough. Its plenty loud - no one should worry about that. Obviously it wouldn't work for music at a sporting event or inside a gymnasium, but it works well for my 500sqft living room
