5 out of 5 eggs Trying Tenergy because other brands failed. 04/18/2017

This review is from: Tenergy Centura D Size 8000mAh Low Self-Discharge (LSD) NiMH Rechargeable Batteries, 1 Card 2xD

Pros: Purchased 4 of these. They all worked but I've only had them for a few weeks.
Shipping was on time.

Cons: Not 10000 MAh.

Other Thoughts: I had purchased 4 EBL's with a charger and 1 was essentially a dummy. So, I purchased a couple SunLabz. The SunLabs were rated the same as the EBLs. Used one of them with 3 EBLs. Used them in a 1500 Lumen flashlight. I only use the flashlight a few times each year. This is the third year and the SunLabz leaked.

Looked at these Tenergy and PowerX. They both received about the same rating in reviews. The general indications from other reviews are that Tenergy doesn't care much about customer support but PowerX does. To me, the trade-ff was Tenergy batteries at half the price but with less capacity and no apparent customer support. If they work out well I would still consider the PowerX batteries in the future. If they don't work out I will wait until one of the newer battery technologies becomes available.

5 out of 5 eggs Good printer for inexpensive general business use. 07/13/2016

This review is from: Epson WorkForce WF-3640 Inkjet Multifunction Printer - Color - Photo Print - Desktop

Pros: Works well as an inexpensive business printer and scanner. The majority of what I print is emails and notes related to my software development activities so high quality images isn't the goal. The printer this one replaced was a similar HP. Things this printer does better are
1) Scans from the sheet feeder are usually straight. The HP was never straight. It was mis-calibrated from the factory.
2) Printing from the bottom tray works. The bottom tray on the HP made a better storage compartment than a paper tray.
3) Envelope/rear paper feed. While limited, the HP had none.
4) It hasn't failed yet. I've owned it for over a year.

Cons: Color is always streaky. Most of my printing is black and white so it hasn't been too annoying but when I print color images it would be nice if they weren't full of streaks. I also wonder what kind of damage this is doing to the print head. Turning up the color quality and cleaning the print head helps but using tons of ink for most of what I print just isn't worth it.

It always displays low ink and the yellow LED is constantly flashing because of it. The sensor is so far up on the ink tank that the printer thinks the ink is low for most of the life of each ink cartridge.

Other Thoughts: People say Epson's use lots of ink and the ink is expensive. My answer to that is not to purchase an printer designed for high quality images so you can print general business related items. I paid $100.00 for this printer. For the price it has been quite the work horse.

HooToo HT-UH004 SuperSpeed USB 3.0 7-Port Hub + 1-Port 5V/2A Charging Port, Include 5V/4A Power adapter and USB 3.0 Cable
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Charge port.

Cons: It says USB 3 but the throughput from my USB 3 hard drive is only half that as compared to when the HD is connected directly to the computer. It's faster than USB 2 but definately not USB 3 in performance.

If manufacturers were honest with consumers could they stay in business?
