Oh Yeah!
Pros: - cools like crazy, 20C cooler than stock HSF - easy install, good instructions
Cons: None
Overall Review: I waited until I had everything else put together and measured to make sure it would fit, it did, and I did not have to move my video card down to make it fit. Case: COOLER MASTER HAF 932 Advanced RC-932-KKN5-GP Black Steel ATX Full Tower Mobo: ASUS P8P67 WS REVOLUTION LGA 1155 Intel P67 CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W GPU: EVGA 012-P3-1470-AR GeForce GTX 470 (Fermi) I didn't even have to remove the huge side fan in the case, fit like a glove.
Flimsy
Pros: They were not DOA. Quiet. Move good amount of air before they die.
Cons: Very flimsy plastic, just cheaply made overall. They were the exact same fans that came with my case, only a different sticker, so I expect them to die in less than two years.
Not what I expected
Pros: It does what it is supposed to do... mostly.
Cons: I thought it was supposed to do something different. I did not like that it only maps to keys instead of being an independent USB device that registered as device buttons like a joystick with a bunch of buttons would do. Required to download software from mfg in order to edit key-mappings. Required to create an account with mfg to download software. Software is not used to program the pad as in start the program, edit the keypad, shut down program, no, it must be running all the time. No option to opt-out of the software phoning home to be my bestest buddy by keeping all my profiles on their servers, yeah they did that out of the kindness of their heart. The profiles keep getting reset and I don't realize it until I am trying to use it, then it's too late(trying to use it as a button box for sim racing)
Overall Review: When I grab a piece of hardware off the store shelf and purchase it, I want to take it home, plug it in, and not be bothered again, I don't want to mail in my warranty card, I don't want the mfgr to know I exist if I choose not to make contact with them, but this gorram product was useless to me without having to create accounts at the mfgr website to download software that is supposed to run on my pc as a service all the time in order for me to use this thing. Good news is that if you know how to edit firewall settings you can block this thing from contacting the mother ship, still not happy about the unnecessary service that must be running in order for me to use anything other than the default key bindings.
So far not so good
Pros: Price, speed. Newegg packaged the drives very well, these were not damaged as a result of poor packaging.
Cons: Bought 3 for file server, one never made it to formatting so I just used the 2 that were working, after a handful of file transfer tests one or both of the two remaining are now failing.
Overall Review: I have bought and used a lot of hard drives from WD, Seagate, Maxtor, and this model is the first DOA I have every had. I don't know what the overall failure rate of these drives are but I am pretty shocked that with over 2200 reviews these are rating at 4 eggs.
Junk like everything else
Pros: None for me
Cons: Could not be manufactured any cheaper than they are, barely strong enough to stand under their own weight. Bought two of these and was not happy when I saw they were exactly the same junk they were replacing, only difference was the brand sticker. Didn't get a full year out of the original two, and only got a few months out of the new junk that replaced them.
Overall Review: I have since bought a cooler master HAF case with huge fans that are built about 10X stronger than these, I am going to see if they have any 250mm's to replace the failing rexflo junk.
False Advertising
Pros: Shape, it's like the MX Revolution I have, I like that, very comfy. Came with usb extension cable so the receiver could be closer to the mouse.
Cons: They should have named this thing "Budget MX" instead of "Performance MX"... AND dropped the price to $40. I am extremely disappointed with this mouse because I am comparing it to the best mouse I have ever used, the MX Revolution. To me it seems the goal for this mouse was to cut the mfg process costs in half but pretend they are still delivering a quality product. Why take the best things about the MX Revolution out of this thing? Middle mouse button might as well not be there, it's useless, trying to use the middle mouse button for clicking or side scroll is like playing darts with a blindfold, you might get lucky and hit the board but don't count on it. It does vertical scroll like a wheel should BUT they went all cheap on us and took out the auto-switch to smooth scroll like the MX Revolution has, you have to click the button behind the wheel to switch wheel modes, CHEAP, CHEAP, RIP OFF, CHEAP!
Overall Review: Except for the MMB, the mouse is better than a lot of mice I have used, but I have to cry foul when they try to pass this cut rate mouse off as a sequel to the MX Revolution AND charge the premium price tag. If you are buying this thing because you love your MX Revolution, DON'T! If you every use the MMB for anything but normal wheel scroll, DON'T! I would trade this thing for a used MX Revolution without hesitation. I may just return this thing because it is no good to me in my 3D modelling apps, I NEED that MMB to work properly!
