G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL7Q-16GBZM

Pros: worked right out of the box, appealing aestetics, low latency and fast overall.

Cons: hard to get out of package... thought i was going to break them.

Overall Review: enable xmp and it will run "automatically" at the advertised speed and timings.

144 hz refresh rate does make a difference!

ASUS VG248QE 24" Full HD 1920 x 1080 1ms (GTG) 144Hz DVI-D HDMI DisplayPort Built-in Speakers Asus Eye Care with Ultra Low-Blue Light & Flicker-Free Backlit LED NVIDIA 3D Gaming Monitor

Pros: Built solid, does not feel weak or wobbly. Easy to adjust the orientation of the screen. Many built-in features for tweaking the image quality. Colors are vivid, contrasts extensive. Plenty bright. Very quick refresh rate with an amazing pixel response time. No tearing, ghosting, etc, even with fast action scenes.

Cons: Targeted more toward the enthusiast crowd, as reflected in the price point. Make sure to have a PC with hardware capable of driving your programs, it is hard to see the difference this monitor makes if your pc can't run things at high frame rates on higher image quality settings.

Overall Review: I hooked this thing up as a dual monitor alongside an older 32" HDTV that was doing good duty as a pc screen. Even just in moving the mouse pointer back and forth between the screens, I could see a dramatic change in the smoothness and clarity. Didn't take long for me to order a second one, and now I just run dual setup of these high refresh monitors. I have not tested the 3D, and I don't use the built-in speakers, so I can't comment on either of those.

Bang for the Buck and Long-term Savings

ARRIS SBG6580 SURFboard Wireless Cable Modem Gateway
ARRIS SBG6580 SURFboard Wireless Cable Modem Gateway

Pros: -No Modem Lease Fee indefintely through ISP, -Modem and Router in Single Unit reduces wire clutter and saves space. -Gigabit ethernet supports virtually any consumer level bandwidth speeds currently available. Also allows for fast transfering of files between different devices within the same Home Network. -Dual Band N-router has good range and signal strength, capable of supporting multiple wireless devices at quick speeds. -Supports upcoming next-gen technology such as DOCSIS 3.0 and IPv6. -Router Software/Firmware has extensive features, including parental controls. -WPA2-PSK (and other options) to help ensure "bandwidth thieves" aren't robbing you blind.

Cons: -802.11 n is "old" technology, does not have newer AC level wireless bandwidth. -Does not come with adjustable external antennae.

Overall Review: Running 50 Mbps service from ISP, seeing speeds over 7 megabytes/sec. through my wired ethernet desktop PC. Supplies plenty of wireless bandwidth and connections stay strong throughout the apartment, even after travelling 60 feet through multiple walls, and servicing up to 3 wireless devices simultaneously (Laptop while gaming, iPad, Android Smartphone). We have two people playing MMO's (one wired, one wireless) at the same time with no speed or connectivity issues. Good bang for the buck and pays for itself (by not having to pay modem lease fees) far sooner than when it will need to be replaced for newer tech. Would Recommend to Friends and Family.

Satisfaction

Lenovo 15.6" Intel Core i3-380M 4GB Memory DDR3 1066 Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit 43302BU

Pros: Performance to cost ratio very high, good features, plenty capable for average user. Plenty of memory, processor speed and storage. Would recommend to anyone needing a decent machine that will allow you to multi-task easily and quickly for your standard programs and applications. Comes with some neat features, such as cyberlink's YouCam, which was fun to play with right out of the box. Very little bloatware from what I saw. Stable and in good working condition on receipt of machine. Wireless functions well, too. For those who need a portable machine to do their everyday tasks around the house/office and elsewhere, this computer is plenty capable of running multiple standard programs and applications at once. Web browsing (multiple tabs and browsers simultaneously), word processing, printing, email, and skype running all at once was no issue for us. As the review title says, we are quite satisfied with the purchase and use of this machine thus far! Highly recommended...

Cons: Does not come with a dedicated Graphics card. Knew this going in, didn't really need one for our use purposes anyways, and thus will not discount any eggs for the lack of one. Have not tested specifically, but doubt the machine would be capable of running anything graphically intensive. HOWEVER: for World of Warcraft players, this machine will run that game on decent settings without any real issue, due to fairly capable CPU! For the cost and intended use, no real cons thus far.

Overall Review: Personal details: Purchased this on Newegg for my grandfather. Amazing value, free shipping, no tax! Asked him if I could write a review of his new laptop, and what he would like to personally say. You'd think he was a paid spokesperson for Lenovo now... He has been raving at how much he loves it, how well it works for him, and how easy it has been to use. He is 75 and not the most technologically savvy person! But this computer is opening up new worlds for him, and making it easy and less frustrating than he once experienced and was previously used to. I helped him set it up and showed him basic tasks and things to do, got the programs he was used to running going, and things like that. I am a bit of a power user, an enthusiast, and even I was impressed at how it was performing. Generally, I do not expect a bargain laptop to do anything worthwhile for me. This blew my expectations, and if I had had the money myself, I would have bought one as well. I am truly happy that I could set my grandfather up with something of this quality. side note: from what I gathered during the purchase process research and use of the machine, Lenovo is somehow related to IBM...? To me, that was a minor sigh of relief since i was not too familiar with the Lenovo name, but knew IBM back in the day. Depending on your knowledge of IBM, this information may help or hurt Lenovo's cause, heh... Only other thing I would like to note, for what it is really worth, is the Windows Experience Index (the rating Windows gives to the machine based on its performances in some "stress" tests). Values are between 1.0 and 7.9. For reference, my personal desktop scores 7.9 on all stats. This Lenovo laptop scored high fives and mid sixes on everything except graphics. The base score looked poor because of the lack of a dedicated graphics card, but everything else surprised me quite a bit. Good performance, regardless of the cost. For what we got here in this machine, would have gladly paid another 150-200 bucks without thinking twice. Hope this review helps you make your decision!

Pros: large, effective, durable, good value for cost, looks pretty sweet, fits fine in my old thermaltake armor full tower case.

Cons: installation instructions are not the most clear and concise i have seen.

Overall Review: cooling my i7 3770k which is overclocked to 4.3 ghz with no issues whatsoever.
