No compromise, all awesome

G.SKILL Ares Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C9Q-16GAB
G.SKILL Ares Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C9Q-16GAB

Pros: This kit was a steal when I bought it, and with the Intel XMP profile it is very well rounded. Frequencies over 1600mhz are rarely meaningful, the latencies are very low for DDR3, and a lot of people appreciate the lower voltages, plus the blue heat spreaders are a nice touch.

Cons: Not to sound like a spokesman for G.Skill, but I can't think of anything really wrong with this kit. They've gone from an old AMD build to my current X79 board over the last 11 months, and not a single problem along the way.

Overall Review: I still had a phenom ii x4 when I bought these and was saving for the 3930k I have now, and it's nice to see them run at the timings they're meant to with XMP. I've got a fairly high-end gaming along side thes ARES sticks (670 SLI, now a GTX Titan), and even though they're only 1600mhz instead of the 2ghz+ that reviewers use, I'm still right up there in performance numbers with the benchmarks they post. Heat spreaders don't usually do any good on RAM, but the blue metal on these is just gorgeous. I'm glad I went with these.

About as good as an air cooler gets.

Phanteks PH-TC14CS_BL 140mm UFB (Updraft Floating Balance) CPU Cooler
Phanteks PH-TC14CS_BL 140mm UFB (Updraft Floating Balance) CPU Cooler

Pros: This cooler doesn't just do its job, it does it very well. It's not cheap, but you easily get what you pay for. It's easy to set up, the fans are very quiet, and its got plenty of push to keep my 3930k stable at a modest overclock over hours of burn tests. Oh, and it matches the blue in my HAF X case.

Cons: I feel bad for knocking an egg just because it isn't very eye-catching, but ultimately a perfect product would satisfy that desire too.

Overall Review: I originally bought it because it chose function and price over flash and flair, and I'm still happy with it almost a year later.

Eggxelent full-tower case!

Cooler Master HAF X Blue Edition - High Air Flow Full Tower Computer Case with Windowed Side Panel and USB 3.0
Cooler Master HAF X Blue Edition - High Air Flow Full Tower Computer Case with Windowed Side Panel and USB 3.0

Pros: This case is very easy to work on/ in, has lots of features, and looks great.

Cons: It scared the heck outa me when the header cable for the front panel USB 2.0 started smoking when I booted up the first build I put in it, but I use the other 3.0 ports anyway, and I've been so happy with the case overall that it's not worth knocking an egg off (and I think I had the header on the wrong pins XD).

Overall Review: In the 7 months and counting that I've had this case, I've gone from a phenom ii x4 to a 3930k, stock cooler to a big Phanteks cooler, and from an ASUS GTX 570 DCII to a pair of their DCII 670s, and other than wishing I'd bought power cable extensions, I haven't had any real problems with the case. All the features are there, the build quality is great, the price is fine for what you get, and my favorite color is blue. I'm looking forward to dipping my toes into some liquid cooling in there when I'm done throwing GTX Titans at it, just for kicks. I love this thing.

Solid deal for the money.

autel MaxiScan MS300 CAN-Bus OBDII Check Engine auto Diagnostic Code Scanner Tool

Pros: It's inexpensive and is handy for troubleshooting.

Cons: It doesn't give much more information that just error codes, but that's often enough to get going in the right direction.

Great little monitor

Pros: Crisp 1080p image quality Low price, profile, and power draw Solid build quality VGA, DVI, and HDMI, plus an audio out (useful for outputting sound to better speakers from the HDMI source)

Cons: Built-in speakers are pretty awful-as they usually are for any monitor-but at least they're there if one needs 'em.

Overall Review: I use this as both a monitor for my cheap gaming rig and a display for a game console in a small room, and PC games look great in full HD with all 2M pixels in such a tight grouping. Playing up-scaled console games isn't too bad either, but PC is where it's at for me. The only thing I wish was different about this monitor was that it'd make a great 120hz monitor for 3D Vision, but otherwise it's got everything most people need.

It works as expected

MSI 870S-G46 AM3 AMD 870 ATX AMD Motherboard
MSI 870S-G46 AM3 AMD 870 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Meets current AMD-platform standards Inexpensive Blue/ black two-tone aesthetics are easy on the eyes

Cons: Second PCIe x16 lane is only an x4 speed bus, so high-end SLI/Xfire setups will probably see slight bottlenecks

Overall Review: The whole board looks and feels decent--not great--but considering the sub-$100 price tag I can't complain. The colors, solid caps, etc. are all nice touches, and even the BIOS is robust enough (for me, at least).
