Question 1

I was looking into new chassis'. I recently had the HAF 932 AMD Limited Edition AM-932-RWN1-GP, however this was discontinued. is this a good substitute in terms of size, and compatibility?

The X is basically a updated version of the 932, VERY similar cases.
You will notice some different sized fans swapping out 230mm for 200's. Also there is a hdd dock in the haf X case and some better airflow to the graphics card size and interior layouts pretty much the same.

If you liked the 932 (and its variations) you will like the Haf X.
One other thing to note, this case will see GREATLY improved airflow over your AMD special (as it just has a pretty door), this thing has another fan there that's right on your GPU (better overclocking performance) \o/.

Question 2

Can a 12 inch long video card fit into this case? If so, is there still room for the video card cooling fan? If this case cannot fit a 12 inch card, how long can the video card be and still fit inside?

Don't even hesitate to purchase this case. It will fit all of your needs, from the largest motherboards to the biggest video cards. Not to mention, it is very quiet but yet cools way better than my cooler master stacker. I have built a lot of custom computers for friends and family, many of their cases said they were full towers, but during installation, things were still tight. I highly recommend this case. Is this case compatible with "Corsair Professional PSU AX 1200 i (80 Platinum Certified), and is it compatible with "Corsair CPU cooler H100i" ? Please let me know by e-mail

This case is absolutely amazing and a beast of a case. It will handle the PSU with little to no issues. For the H100i I have researched and researched ( I have one in the mail right now ) and have come to the conclusion that it can in fact be used with this case in a variety of ways. Inside the case mounted as push-pull with the two top case fans or in replacement of the two top case fans. Hope this helps.....=)

does this support water cooling?

Yeah, it's probably a much bigger case than you think it is. It can hold pretty much anything. I'm just using an H100i, but it could hold a much bigger, more complex water system if you wanted.

Question 5

Looking at buying two GeForce 970 cards, full sized ones, and was wondering if they will both fit inside with case without issues? My current case is a Cool Master, can't remember which one, and ended up having to severely modify the inside in order to fit my two R9 290 cards despite having bought it because reviews said these large cards would fit.

This was my second Cooler Master HAF full tower case. The first was the original 932 with the aluminum unpainted interior, and 3 230mm fans and a 140mm talk about airflow. She still operates superbly and I'm using it right now. I was extremely happy to see the improvements they made with the Blue edition. I'm installing EVGA 970's as well for 2-way SLI, this build is for total gaming and I do not see a problem. I look and read all I can for a build. And I have found nothing better in a case. Easy to move and to build just plan well. The only item hitch was the fact that it provides openings for 2-200mm fans on top, but only include 1. I fixed that miss right off and purchased the second 200mm when I bought the case. Remember plan well and take your time don't rush the build, and sequence placement is the key. Modular and contained cable management keep it clean.

Does this case have dust filters? The Red version does as far as I know, but I didn't see anything about dust filters on this one.

Yes it does. There are filters everyplace that needs one. This is the best case I've ever owned. It is very big though.  Even big for being a full tower. But the extra space helps keep it cool. I wouldn't pick anything else though. You might have to get a fan or two. I know you need a 200 mm one for the top, as it only comes with one up there despite having two slots.

Does this case differ in any way from the standard HAF X, other than the color of the LEDs?

The only difference I can see is that some of the HAF-X cases don't come with the 6pin USB connector for the front USB ports like this one. They have the connection that you have to run through the case and plug into the rear of the MB.

Question 8

What SATA standard are the two bottom hot swap bays on the front ? Or does it not matter ? This is basically what I would be looking at tossing in those two bays but don't want to sacrifice performance by doing so... Either way, stupid question or not it's better safe than sorry.

Yeah, you have to run your own cables to them, so I don't know if it's just a pass through or if the hot swap hardware in the case will affect the throughput or not. The inside facing panel (facing the inside of the case) allows SATA power etc to be connected.

I'm not using them, so I can't comment any further on the performance / quality of the hot swap bays.

Question 9

This will be my first build. Is liquid cooling a good choice when building a gaming computer? I plan on running 2 video cards if this matters. also is this case capable of fitting multiple video cards?

I can't answer the question regarding liquid cooling as I'm not a gamer.  In general, anything you can do to keep you system cool is a good thing.  However, it's my understanding that liquid cooling requires a lot of extra work. The case should be big enough to handle it.

WRT multiple video card, this case is definitely big enough to handle just about any size MB.  However, the question you should be asking is if your MB is big enough to handle multiple video cards. This is a case only.

Finally, be aware that this is definitely NOT a tools free case.

Question 10

Can I mount the Corsair H100 liquid cooling radiator on the top of the haf x blue where its 200mm fan comes preinstalled? Are there mounting holes to do so?

Yes you can. You can remove the stock 200 mm fans and install the radiator there. I actually mounted the h110 below the stock fans. I removed the top Un installed the stock fans mounted the radiator below the cross member and remounted the stock fans and replaced the top. There is so much room in this case to do just about anything you want.

I set the h110 fans in a push configuration along with the pull of the stock fans. It made for a nice air flow design in my opinion.
