Great Motherboard for a Great Price

ASRock Z97M-ITX/AC LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI USB 3.0 Mini ITX Intel Motherboard
ASRock Z97M-ITX/AC LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI USB 3.0 Mini ITX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Price Useful features Great UEFI BIOS Supports high speed memory at high voltages Good overclocks

Cons: Color scheme, but once you have your stuff installed it's not very visible PCB is not black like it appears in the picture, it is in fact dark brown Only 2 fan headers, one CPU and one case fan, though both are 4-Pin, and was enough for my situation.

Overall Review: I bought this motherboard as part of a budget computer build made for light gaming and some audio production work. The case of choice was EVGA's Hadron Air. Paired with an i3-4150 and a GTX 750ti, along with Corsair Vengeance Pro memory and a Samsung 840 Evo SSD, the build came together nicely. ASRock has one of my favorite UEFI BIOS layouts; Everything is simple and organized, and it gives you the options you want and ones you didn't even know you needed, such as a dehumidifier option which allows the fans to spin up periodically to keep moisture out even when the computer is off. So far I have found the board to be very stable. Setting the XMP profile for the Corsair memory was extremely easy and is now running at 2400MHz with a Cas9. I understand that the i3-4150 is not overclockable but with this board in particular, I am able to set a custom turbo frequency of 4.5GHz and the CPU runs at that frequency the entire time. Overall if it wasn't for the dark brown PCB and the early 2000's looking blue color scheme, this would be the perfect motherboard. I have not tested out the onboard audio or the AC wifi capability but I'm positive I won't be disappointed.

It's Alright...

Dell Inspiron 11 – 3147 11.6" LED Backlit HD Touchscreen with Intel Pentium N3530 Processor (2.58GHz), 4GB DDR3L, 500GB HDD, HD Camera with Microphone, Windows 8.1 64Bit
Dell Inspiron 11 – 3147 11.6" LED Backlit HD Touchscreen with Intel Pentium N3530 Processor (2.58GHz), 4GB DDR3L, 500GB HDD, HD Camera with Microphone, Windows 8.1 64Bit

Pros: Good quality IPS screen, colors and viewing angles are excellent Screen touch responsiveness is good

Cons: Power button is a tiny button on the side of the laptop Touching the screen a bit too hard gives ripples of colors Screen hinges are weak and for such a small screen, it sure flops around a lot Design is sort of awkward, when the laptop is closed, it doesn't seem flush with the rest of the laptop, almost looks broken even though it's just the design No ethernet port And here is the one that ruined the laptop for me: The SATA interface is only SATA II and not SATA III. I bought this laptop with the intentions of putting in a Samsung SSD to make it blazing fast and the max speeds that the laptop could get was 250mb/s read and write, which is less than half what the drive is capable of.

Overall Review: Read the Cons

Disappointing

Mushkin Enhanced Atlas Series 120GB Mini-SATA (mSATA) MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MKNSSDAT120GB-DX
Mushkin Enhanced Atlas Series 120GB Mini-SATA (mSATA) MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MKNSSDAT120GB-DX

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: Slower than acclaimed speed

Overall Review: I was excited to buy this for my brand new notebook to replace the existing hard drive. Installing was as easy as can be, very similar to installing RAM in notebooks, and then removing the hard drive. After installing a fresh version of Windows 8.1 and installing all updates and drivers, I did a speed test with AS SSD Benchmark and here were my results... Read: 460MB/S Write: 160MB/S So what is going on? It's advertised to have read and write speeds in the lower 500s. This is just very disappointing, and future buyers beware that this SSD does not run at the speeds that it is advertised, it is very noticeable over using a Samsung Evo SSD...

It's A Good Cooler

EVGA 100-FS-C901-KR 92mm Sleeve mITX ACX CPU Cooler, Direct Touch 4 Heat Pipe
EVGA 100-FS-C901-KR 92mm Sleeve mITX ACX CPU Cooler, Direct Touch 4 Heat Pipe

Pros: All black Fan cable is sleeved Mounting couldn't be easier It's exactly the same as the stock Intel cooler with its mounting mechanism, just push down on the clip in opposite corners of each other and it clips right in Keeps an i3-4340 3.5GHz at 65C on full load using Prime95

Cons: Fan color doesn't match heatsink color, it's more of a faded black where the heatsink is glossy black Can be very loud at full speed

Overall Review: Not sure how Pedro managed to mess up so badly, but the mounting mechanism on this heatsink was absolutely a breeze to mount

Surprisingly Very Good For The Price

ASRock B85M-ITX LGA 1150 Intel B85 HDMI USB 3.0 Mini ITX Intel Motherboard
ASRock B85M-ITX LGA 1150 Intel B85 HDMI USB 3.0 Mini ITX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Great Value Yes it does let you overclock Everything on it works I love the UEFI; very many options and some very cleaver ones like a dehumidifier Great Fan control no matter if 3 pin or 4 pin

Cons: Brown PCB is Ugly, but at this price point, can't have everything

Overall Review: Used this in an EVGA Hadron, great motherboards, doesn't everything you need and more

It's A Good Card

EVGA SuperClocked 02G-P4-2762-KR G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 SLI Support Video Card
EVGA SuperClocked 02G-P4-2762-KR G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 SLI Support Video Card

Pros: Looks Great Good Build Quality Silent when Idle

Cons: Heats Up Quick Gets to 85 Degrees and sits there the whole time Not the most ideal place for PCI power connectors, more towards the back would be better

Overall Review: Used this in an EVGA Hadron build because of the blower design which would exhaust hot air out the back instead of in a small case It works and does it's job, if you want performance numbers, go look them up yourself
