Pros: When a 9 year old with nothing but tablet knowledge can follow the direction and in the CineRaid 252 and have it up and running in that short of time is incredible. I am running the Hitachi 7000s/7200RPMs/3TB x 2; Seagate Barracuda 7200 RPM + Everything on the HP D7 Intel 180GB SSD; Hitachi 2.5" 7/1000 7200 RPM 64MB Cache. BOOM! Online! Only thing left to do was to partition the two Seagate Baracudas and partition and format the drives. Boom. All of this done in less than 20 minutes.with EaseUS.. Mixed Drives are no problem but I still would stay with the same drive just in case you want to run a raid.

Cons: With the amount of drives and accessories I run off of the HP Pavillion DV7 the speed in between the Hitachis and Seagate are running on initial tests at about what you would expect from good USB Speed at about 50MBS whereas with Hitachis direct to direct standalones 100 to 200 mbs. Higher ratings just for seconds then leveling off at the 100 to 200mbs. As always and not as bad as most of the companies the USB 3..0 cable is good quality but about 12 to 18 inches short. I am running two USB Hubs one is USB 3.0 x4 and the other is Directlink 4/4 USB 2.0 and 3.0. Cineraid is direct to USB 3.0 on HP DV7 and will stay so. I also could not get any SMART reading out of the Cineraid and drives for Speed Fan to give me HD Temps to see what the differences are with all of the other crazy things I am running like USB 3.0 docking station and USB 3.0 BRR/DDR. I will call CineRaid and believe it may be more of a Seagate Issue then anything else.

Overall Review: when everything used to come with fan in the enclosures. When you look at the enclosures for USB drives and the prices with no fans and then find out with a utility like Speed Fan that the drives are running 60 to 70 degrees C then you start looking for alternatives. I remember . CineRaid is worth every penny. I feel much more comfortable to have the drives running cooler with the huge fan rotating the air. I do worry about the Hitach HDS then again they are rated at 2 Million Hour Failure Rate and the Seagate Barracudas are at 200,000 hours.

Pros: Pros: 1) Atom Quad Chipset running from 1.4ghz to 2.4ghz; 2) Windows 8.1 Full 64 Bit; Upgradeable to Windows 10*** 3) 2 in 1 ala Transformer. A Tablet or very cool little Notebook with Mini HDMI, USB 3.0 on Keyboard, Mini USB for power or??? 4) Speaking of Power 10-11 Hour Battery Life WOW! 5) Asus has broken through the China what I call glass ceiling. Much like Kia has done in Korea and now are a respected and well touted product. 5) Quality Keyboard. 6) Touch Screen works exceptionally well out of the box. 7) NOTE I tested the Atom Intel Z3740 Quad Core against the Snapdragon 2.2 Qualcomm Chipset and found it to be faster at like tasks.

Cons: Cons: 1) Top Cover is material this is a fingerprint magnet will try several special tricks to limit this but... I like everything clean and looking new 100% of the time. 2) NOTE ALERT-Do NOT be fooled by Sellers selling 32GB with same chipset with Windows 8.1 THIS is 32 Bit Version of Windows and a whole different animal and I would not even review it. I know it has a place but not in my place. ToeKnee don't roll that 32 Bit Way No More. 3) Charging of Battery-I knew this going in but had to test it myself. Battery Life is incredible! 10-11 Hours. Recharging with the unit on is 1 to 1 (in other words 10 to 11 Hours to Full Charge at 3% Cutoff) OR Power Off and Charged in 4-5 Hours to 100%. 4) 72 Windows 8.1 Updates when the unit arrives so plug it in and reboot and let it do all of the upgrades in the Ghost Restart Mode.... Count on a bottle of wine or a good dinner and dessert! 60 to 120 minutes... I am on 65mbs line so do the math and as always act accordingly and I am out of here. BUY It and forget the rest in this class and get a good price.... I will not reveal what I paid but it was a steal......

Pros: Seagate. 2 Year Warranty. USB 3.0. Elegant. Cool Temps checked by Speed Fan on 440 GB Transfer to check speeds and temp. The Looks. The Move. It is A Song, A Rhapsody. Price is knockout and onsale. First sold to as Mac Time Machine or some other such nonsense name. Where is Michael J Fox when you need him. Download file from from Seagate. Boom 40 seconds later it is Partitioned, Formatted, SMART. Auto Registration. See Cons on this one. Speeds are not accurate as I am running two usb hubds and 14 TB of external drives so it ended up in USB 2.0 but it did range from 70 o 160 mbs in USB 2.0 and like I wrote temps did not go over 38C. It was cooler than my SSD 180 GB Intel. WOW!.

Cons: I installed two 3GB Barracudas external and 2 2.5 inch NewEgg Slims (from the Pulp Fiction Movie) and tried to 1) set them up. One at a time would not automatically go one to one to one to one. I did get the two Slims to auto registration one plugged in and the other unplugged and reboot. Switch plug and unplug. The Barracudas swam to the bottom like Seagate Bottom Feeders but I blame the dual external with fan that does not support SMART or stupid.

Overall Review: Great release point at Christmas but I do not see Seagate over selling this model as the Box reads for the Mac and PC users cringe as the old Chirstmas Past ghosts of Apple Talk and other nightmare Mac stories. Whatever makes anyone happy but with my new MS Tablet 2 and the Seagate drive writing personal buy and sell offers the eyes are on technology then the price quote. IT IS A CLOSER!

Pros: 1. Specifications (External Drive). Manufacturer's Rate Drives based on their bench performance. External Drives are to not to be used or running at high transfer rates for sustained periods of time. ALA One review to take out unit and put in case with the difference being a 1 year warranty to the internal drive that has 3 year warranty. WARRANTY FYI begins on the date on manufacture. Learn this the hard way when you buy a WD with a one year warranty and it runs for two weeks and then takes a huge dump on your desktop. Check it on WD.com and find out it went out of Warranty even though I bought it 3 weeks earlier.. I have always left all external drives running 24 hours a day and have added KeepAliveHD to circumvent the sleepy sleep mode that Laptops try to use to save battery live and manufacturers use to try to save HD Life. Life Support but then you have to worry about spun down that will not come back up as Windows has shut down in the middle of the night to install a new Skypee driver. LOL. Not funny but too many drives freeze up and KeepAliveHD-FYI FREE Software will manage a whole network of HDs-no more sleepy sleep ready to rock and roll on command. I am running 10TBs of external plus Connectland USB 3.0 Docking Station and SSD and 1TB on my LapTop off of USB 3.0 Belkin Hub. NOW Heat and Hard Drives. Speed Fan-FREE Software will give you SMART reading for all temperatures on all HDs. WOW you will see that the temperature for the most part are too high no matter what and where you have them placed. No fan on the enclosure is the reason but there is solution for another time. You want to be sure you are within reason AND control the CPUs fans and be able to increase speeds of CPU fans with CPU. You will find alignment for other drives that will cut precious degrees from running temperature. The worse things for HDs is unplugging the USD Wire while the drive is still operating; high temperature; sleep mode or battery dead or drained suspension-so make sure when you are buying the back up unit that it includes plug ins for the USB external drives. 30 years ago HDs were $1000 for 10MB do the math. Compression of mathematical algorithms and the ability to create SSD drive FYI You can now buy a 12TB SSD that just must rock. It costs as much as a small car but it must just rock.

Cons: 1 Year Warranty. Better Cooling System even at the cost. Back in the Onset of External Drive ALL had at least one single fans in an enclosed case. I still have some in a box USB 2.0 from CUSA that I picked up for $9.99 on close out. Spoiled now with USB 3.0 I hate to put anything in there but to last and save files besides putting them in a safe or safety deposit boxes which BTW is the correct etiquette for backing up as far as I am concerned unless you are Walter White and are Breaking Bad.

Overall Review: In a perfect world, hard drives would never go down and in a perfect world an educated owner might do all of those other right things to do but we are plug and play and temperatures are not checking and cases are not blown out of dust. IF in use rotate the drives every two years to be safe if you are following all of the other things you should be doing. Put them in safe place or safe or safety deposti box BUT not near magnets as we all know.

Pros: I bought the 4 and the 4/4 USB 2.0 and 3.0 Hubs. IF you understand that USB 3.0 and drivers and chip recognition are miles apart. Intel is taking new advantages of the USB 3.0 but all of the different drivers and different makers and conflicts affect us the end consumer and reflect on SIIG and their reputation. IE I have 2 USB 3.0 WD USB 3TB and 2 USB 3.0 Hitachi 3TB both 7200 RPM. 1) the drivers or hardware do not like each other. So I run them off of different machines. AND everything is putting everything to sleep so I found a nice program called KeepAliveHD AND it will do networks and as many USB units to keep awake. No more choking. It will take another year until the real USB 3.0 possibilities are reached with Intel is doing with it in their new chips.

Cons: Using the SIIG maybe alright for Smartphones but when it comes to plugging in items like 2.5 powerless USB 2.0 external hard drives you can either get nothing or if you are on laptop maybe a warning about the electrical drain or compromise. What can you expect to plug in and charge a 12 volt car battery?

Overall Review: Review your USB devices and Devices in the Device Manager and update all drivers and good luck on finding some of these drivers to update.
