Seagate FireCuda Gaming SSHD 1TB SATA 6.0Gb/s 2.5
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: Decent speeds, but large size is great.

Cons: Feels slow due to being used to both regular and NVMe SSDs, but the cost per GB price is phenomenal, plus the caching helps the 4K speeds be better than other HDDs

Other Thoughts: Using in a tinkering/backup gaming system, works great. With SSD prices being inflated currently, went the cost effective route, not disappointed!

MSI Radeon RX 470 DirectX 12 Radeon RX 470 ARMOR 4G OC 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Pros: The after rebate price on this card was impressively low considering the performance. Tossed it into an entry gaming system I've been tinkering with. (Intel G4560, 8GB DDR4 2400, Seagate 1TB Firecuda SSHD) Was running an MSI GTX 1050 Gaming X, great card, but this card ended up being only a few dollars more, for easily 20-40% more performance, depending on the game. While the 1050 was pushing hard to see 50fps on BF1 (medium/low settings) this card ran the same FPS at the high preset. 3DMark "Normal" Firestrike went from ~5800 to ~8700

Cons: Overclocking is mostly a bust, was hoping with the 8pin connector providing more power that I'd be able to tweak some decent increases out of it. Only around +100Mhz on both core and memory clocks with Afterburner (power set to +50%) before 3DMark started crashing. Was still only using ~130w max, so guessing the VRMs are lower quality than other RX series, but not a big deal at all considering the cost of the card!

Other Thoughts: great deal when on sale! for a cheaper card to tinker with, seems great, might look into changing the heatsink compound and checking VRM cooling and memory cooling

Pros: Speedy, great speed for the price, bests some big brand names for less money, and even beats its rated max in ATTO and CDM! 5 year warranty!

Cons: none!

Other Thoughts: I purchased this directly from the manufacturer before it was available on Newegg, going on the great review Tomshardware gave it. Amazing for the price!
