Keeping my fingers crossed
Pros: Great price, Great size, Not DOA, quiet, good read/write speeds.
Cons: Not as fast as some of my other 7200 rpm drives. Not a big difference and not enough to knock off an egg, but it is noticeable.
Overall Review: After reading other reviews I was a bit leery of buying this drive but decided to go ahead based on my experience with Hitachi laptop drives and the fact that the price was too good to pass up. However, just to be safe I plugged it into my testing dock to make sure it worked and to format prior to opening up my WHS storage array and installing it. It passed all tests so now it is in the storage array and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Will update if something negative happens in the future.
Step backwads
Pros: Works 9 has an easy to use and understand interface with lots of webased templates and apps that mkes many home functions simple and quick to do.
Cons: A step backwards from Works Suite 99 that had far more business related templates for the small business user who didn't want to go to the expense of or have the need to use Microsoft Office.
Overall Review: Though dumbed down in terms of business use Microsoft has at least held the price to a very reasonable level
Good solid drive for most uses.
Pros: Reliable Fast for platter drive Came right up and worked
Cons: none at this time
Overall Review: What can I say, I still prefer a 500 GB platter drive as the base drive in most computer systems and WD makes about the best now that Maxtor is gone. I have started using SSD's in 500 GB but have yet to see if they have the longevity of the WD platter drive.
two for two so far.
Pros: Nice price for the capacity Stable and fast for a platter drive reliable so far
Cons: None so far
Overall Review: This is my 2nd Hitachi drive with my 1st having ran for the last 5 years with no issues. This one came right up and is running alongside the other drive in a NAS
Nice 4 port hub
Pros: Well made, solid hub that allows you to turn each port on and off if you desire. Backwards compatible so it will work with older host ports which is a big plus.
Cons: Surprisingly big for a hub though not a deal breaker and the cable is short which does cause issues with placement due to the location of my 3.0 hub on the laptop this is being used with.
Overall Review: Overall this is a nice hub that would be a great hub with a slightly longer cable so that hub placement would be more flexible.
Nice adapter
Pros: Well designed and made. Tool-less at least as far as mounting the drives though you still need a screwdriver to mount it in a bay if the bay is not tool-less.
Cons: None I can see at this time.
Overall Review: A well made adapter that allowed me to mount a 2.5 drive in an old ATX case that had no provisions for a 2.5 in drive.
