CORSAIR CX-M Series CX650M 650W 80 PLUS BRONZE Haswell Ready ATX12V & EPS12V Semi-Modular Power Supply
  • eggxpert iconEggXpert

Pros: Semi-Modular
Cables are good length
5 Year Warranty
Overall, this PSU is great. I am a fan of semi-modular designs as I generally need the cables that are attached and can choose the other cables I need to go with them. This PSU has never been louder than my case fans which are also pretty quiet, so I have pretty much never had to hear it running. I usually have cases that are bigger than necessary – the cables on this PSU are long enough to reach everything I need them to reach. Corsair's warranty and customer service are great based on the one time I have had to use it.

Cons: No major cons for me. I am a bit concerned about the reliability (based on other reviews) – but Corsair’s excellent warranty and customer service ease my concerns on that front.

Other Thoughts: I should state that this is a review based on a consumer perspective of the PSU. I am not an expert with the tools necessary to dismantle and fully test this PSU. I can say that my system showed the voltages at the correct readings and that everything is working great so far.
Overall, I say this is a good product from a great company.

Pros: -Hybrid Drive
-Great PS4 drive upgrade
-5 Year Warranty
Overall, this drive is pretty great. It offers improved performance over a traditional hard drive by adding in a SSD cache drive, this essentially means it will remember your most-used applications and keep them on the SSD, allowing them to load faster. I used this drive as an upgrade to my PS4, and it does quite a good job. Initial load times of the system start up are much faster, and my current game of choice loads faster – other games that randomly are played do not seem to get much of a load time boost though. Overall, I think it is a great upgrade to the system. Having a 5 year warranty gives me some peace of mind.

Cons: -Not as fast as a standalone SSD
While this drive does a good job of bridging the gap between a traditional HDD and a SSD, it does not match the speed of an SSD.

Other Thoughts: This drive does an excellent job at what it is supposed to. If a high-capacity SSD is out of your budget range, then this can make a great alternative. It is an easy and cost effective way to upgrade a PS4, and would make a good alternative to a HDD in a laptop that only has room for one drive.
It is a great product and does exactly what it is supposed to do. I expect it to last a long time when backed by a 5 year warranty.

Seagate BarraCuda ST2000DM006 2TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5

Pros: -Good speed (for a mechanical drive)
-7200 RPM
-Good Price for the size
Overall, this is a very good drive for the price range. 2 TB of data is a good amount of storage space for most uses. The drive is quiet, my case fans (which are pretty quiet) are louder than the drive, so I do not hear it at all. 7200 RPM is always good to have for an overall more responsive experience.
Other than that, it is a hard drive; it installs with absolutely no issues, was instantly recognized by the system, formatted, and is now storing a lot of media files to watch on a Plex server. Does what it is supposed to do and does it well.

Cons: -2-year warranty
With only a 2-year warranty, one might worry about longevity of the drive a little bit. But, at the same time, I have hard drives of many different brands, models, and warranty durations fail at different times, it is hard to say how long a mechanical drive will last – but a longer warranty does offer more peace of mind.

Other Thoughts: It’s a great drive. It has had no problems, performs well, and I would recommend it for a storage drive.
Mechanical drives are just not up to par with SSDs for performance. But when lower cost storage is needed, this drive is a great solution.
