Is this fan-less (quiet) or does this switch make noise like their POE switches?

There's no fan. Absolutely silent. Just a really nice switch for home use with lots of ports.

Can CAT-6 cables be used with this?

Yes, cat-6 cables are superior to cat5 and cat5e, and can be used everywhere you would use the lesser cables. Cat6 is over-kill for gigabit ethernet, unless you are running long distances.

What is the operating temperature range?

D-Link's website says: Operating Temperature 32 to 104 °F (0 to 40 °C) I have it sitting on my desktop with plenty of ventilation, my room temp is normally around 65-75 degrees depending of the time of the year. I've operated this unit for almost 2 years and I've never had to reset it.

Does this support link aggregation, or port sharing. I am looking to add a quad gigabit adapter to my file server?
