I am paying a monthly fee for a comcast router. Can this router be used as a substitute? Is is compatible with comcast tv and internet service?

This is an ethernet and wi-fi router. It works just fine with the cat-5 ethernet cable coming out of the Comcast cable modem. Just to be sure...it is not a CABLE MODEM. A cable modem is what is attached the coax coming from Comcast. Comcast sometimes charges for this cable modem. The Comcast cable modem may include a router and wi-fi. But in any event, you need a cable modem to connect to the coax coming in. PS: I find that the wifi output of this is higher than most of my other wifi routers. Also, the admin function is feature-full (can also read this as meaning complex).
