Plug and play (be patient as Windows installs it). Construction feels solid. The included usb cable appears to be about eight feet long. Great price to performance option, at least for video conferencing. I can't speak to to the marketed music applications but it does seem to capture sound well enough to fit that need if you are on a budget.
