In Network Attached Storage (NAS)

I got this to upgrade an older symbology. It was fast and easy. Pop the drives in. Click a few things and done. New one is much faster and all my data and settings are preserved except 2fa has to be reactivated

Cross-platform file usage. The drive bay alignment and levers to close the SATA connections work well. Upgrade options are good. Software seems easy to use.

- The software has everything I need and more - Operating system and user interface is pretty intuitive - Loving the photos system as the thumbnail rendering is super quick from both a browser and the apps - Apps on the phone and computer seem very well thought through and developed - SSH access if and when needed lets me get to the command line

Synology NAS shipped quickly, arrived as expected in perfect condition.

I upgraded from a DS416. Setting up the DS1821+ was really easy since I had already set up a Synology years before. That being said, I do remember the DS416 had a steep learning curve (for me, anyway). I was concerned about the drive compatibility issue so many people have complained about. I am happy to say that this NAS took every piece of garbage disk that I put it in... Everything from a new 20Tb Seagate Ironwolf Pro to decade or older disks as small at 250 Gb (eh, it was just laying around so why not).

- Well made - Nice little heatsink on the chip. - Fast ... really fast !

I have been using it to run plex for some time and it has been working really well. It is very simple to add new componants like ram and ssd.

Good Interface, stable product, great price, good online Video training, easy to setup for basic functions, easy to link to vie home network, TV connections. Quite and good power management.

I was able to replace 2 Raspberry Pi's and a repurposed older desktop with a single compact machine that is SO much easier to maintain. Why did I wait this long?

Decent price for the hardware, sleek design, upgradable RAM, software updates are frequent, drive bays are solid, can control fan speed for the CPU

It just works. And in the computer world thats a big win. Runs as fast as a local hard drive.

Very fast with link doubling. Easy to replace two of SATA 2.5/3.5" disks. Very convenient setup with four M2 NVMe memories. Multiple functionality and apps. Fast USB 3 connections for additional external disks. Very fast internal copy/move operations.

Interface is so much better than my old buffalo have not had issues with dropping connection has been up for over 2 years now plex works great

Easy to set up and hundreds of YouTube videos that are helpful. Waiting on the last 4 of 6 drives that populated that NAS. Then a couple of M.2s and some more memory and the build will be complete. Very versatile and expandable.
