This is my second Synology server. My first one was a DS713+ and it is still going strong. This one has a much more advanced processor, so I expect good things when I install it.
4 bays, easy to put HDD's in and out of. Software works pretty easily - tons of YouTube videos available for walk-throughs. Has enough power to run a Plex server. Currently using the Synology Drive app on all of my phones, and laptops to automatically keep backups on the NAS - works very well. And as the admin on my account, I can get into everyone's individual backups and copy/paste files around. Can set up and run your own VPN server - which I've used several times already through my NAS to see things on my NAS, my NVR, and also my router from remote locations.
Easy to setup and configure
Easy to set up and maintain. Setup the system in less than 1/2 hrs if you know what you're doing.
Excellent solid hardware (2.5GB LAN, M.2 Storage for cashing, I/O Ports) at a great price. Installation of hardware (drives, etc.) done well. UGREEN NAS app make it simple and quick to get the unit up and running.
Good Interface, stable product, great price, good online Video training, easy to setup for basic functions, easy to link to vie home network, TV connections. Quite and good power management.
Decent price for the hardware, sleek design, upgradable RAM, software updates are frequent, drive bays are solid, can control fan speed for the CPU
This is like training wheels for a home network NAS
Easy to set-up Easy to be used by any devices Easily support 6 users ( 4 iphones + 2 android + 5 window laptop + 2 macosx + 2 fire tv) backup and streaming)
- Well made - Nice little heatsink on the chip. - Fast ... really fast !
easy to use
So easy to setup physically and soft. Enought apps for my needs (Streaming movies) With a WD red in it, was able to stream over Wi-Fi and copyng large files at the same time on it. Silent Robust construction No compatibility limitations compare to... tried to give Ugreen a try and I was really impressed.
With dual 2.5GbE ports, and enough performance for transcoding, this server is a big yet inexpensive upgrade from my old HP N54L running Xpenology. So far, the TOS 5.1.145 native Terramaster NAS software seems to be robust enough for my needs.
i was looking for a new Plex server for full 4k HD remux HEVC mkv files. This is it!!! Play files without issue using LG tv plex app. If youre looking for a new Plex server you wont regret this purchase.
Good configuration for RAID-6/SHR-2 10GbE (optional card) is high bandwidth (650-700 MB/s with RAID-6) NVMe (optional) available in addition to network adapter Migration Assistant worked well (Hyper Backup would have been 2nd choice) DiskStation Manager (DSM) software--big feature set
DDR5 gives on-die error correction Extra bays give cache options Compatible RAM upgrades TrueNAS compatibility
* Excellent price:feature ratio * Great software
