Theres a reinforced opening on the back for the leash to go through and attach to a collar. I use a harness and this same hole allows me to squeeze through the harness loops for me to attach the leash to. It is so easy to put on and take off of my dog. No trying to get his paws through holes or straps. The neck Velcros and the part that wraps around his belly also Velcros on both sides. So I just lay the coat on his back with all of the Velcro undone. Then I Velcro the neck and I Velcro each side of the belly part.
