I have used many sergers in my time and this one is the easiest to thread (really foolproof) It has lots of light where you are sewing. There are many options for the type of sewing you would like to do. Has a demo disc to show you how to change the stitches and what they are used for. I like the pressure foot lever on the side of the machine so you dont have to reach through the machine to raise and lower the foot. Seems very well built as are all Brother products.

This is my first sewing machine. I'm learning to use it for making face masks. So far, I have made 3 of them. The machine is pretty easy to use. I watched some video tutorials to get the basics down.
