This unit worked flawlessly, thermally controlled fans were silent (couldn't even generate a big enough load to kick them on), battery and load capacity indicators were seemingly accurate, the free remote that came with it proved very convenient to monitor capacity from a tent, and the overload control works as expected. I powered a dual-element heated blanket and a crock-pot and the load indicator didn't waver at all. I suspect this inverter will perform well under a much heavier load... Next up is a 60" lcd and a mini-fridge for tailgating purposes. The construction is very sturdy but keep in mind this is a large unit that you will have a difficult time hiding if the application isn't an RV or semi (or you don't have a battery within 4' of a mounting spot). I had planned on permanently installing this in my '07 Dodge Ram QC 1500 until I saw the size of it (and the size of the 0 gauge cabling to hook it up).

The dual-source power is the main issue here, not only does it provide dual power sources for single plug equipment but for itself as well, facilitating cable disconnection for cable management, UPS failure and replacement without any down time. The other features are just icing on the cake

The Aethena PSU's for server's have always worked well for me. I had an Athena PSU 2U 800 watt that lasted for over 10 years. It ran virtually 24/7 until I replaced it recently.
