motherboard works just fine
Pros: once i bothered to read the manual to deal with my own mistakes, everything was a-ok.
Cons: might need a sticker for dim witted techs like me who are too lazy to read the manual from the get go to warn you about which dimm slots support overclocking and which do not.
Pros: looks pretty. usb3 works well, mic/headphones jack work well.
Cons: oh boy. where to start? i received this thing this morning, hyped, i installed it, just to see if everything works. the usb3 header works, so that's a pass, headphones and mic jack works as well. good. that's why i bought this thing in the first place. now..i also bought this for the multi card reader. it reads sd cards without any problems, but that's it. cf cards fail to read, mmc cards don't read either. it's a bummer, because i expected to clear some desk room by getting rid of my on desk reader. too bad i guess. Fan controllers? stuck at full rpm, the dials do nothing. the LED screen is lit, but nothing shows up on it. even the e-sata port fails. all in all, it fails at 3 out of 5 things it advertises.
Overall Review: 3 star because i mainly needed usb3 and IO jacks, those work. but i'm still mad that i paid so much for an defect. i don't plan on returning it because shipping fees are too expensive.
just what i needed.
Pros: 3200Mhz at 14-14-14-34 without trouble on ryzen 7 2700x... once i actually put them in the right dimm slots that is!
Cons: none
Overall Review: after failing a few times to get the system to post with the xmp profile on, i finally decided to read my motherboard's manual and realized that only 2 of my 4 dimm slots could handle the xmp profile. once i switched them around, it fired up flawlessly.
perfection incarnate.
Pros: uterly silent stable clean power delivery
Cons: none.
Overall Review: well worth the extra cost for the peace of mind.
it just works.
Pros: been a long time user of corsair memory. i never was disappointed, and this time has been no different.
Cons: this is a rather odd thing actually. when the system is heating up, the glue under the corsair stickers on the memory sticks kind of smells like bacon. i though i was crazy for a while, and i laughed when i figured it out. then again i like bacon, so maybe that counts as a hidden pro?
Overall Review: i've had a memory kit from corsair die on me from 2011. i was very surprised when they honored their lifetime warranty and replaced it free of charge. that's why i stick with them. even after all this time.
Pros: fast, no noise, samsung magician is pretty great as far as features go.
Cons: none yet, depends if this thing breaks down over time.
Overall Review: bought that for a little gaming laptop, makes loading in games pretty much instant.
Best air cooler on the market
advertised as such, it did not fail to deliver. my ryzen 7 2700x can now push to 4.4 on a regular basis!
