Does exactly what it's supposed to

RCA ANT1450B Flat Antenna With Amplifier in Black Finish
RCA ANT1450B Flat Antenna With Amplifier in Black Finish

Pros: The antenna does exactly what it's supposed to do and it does it well. I went from 0 channels to almost 25.

Cons: The cord from the antenna to the amplifier box is a tad short, but it's not as bad as people here make it out to be. You can get coax cable anywhere and it's cheap, if not free in most cases. This wasn't bad enough to lose an egg over.

Overall Review: Reading the reviews it seems that a lot of people don't know how a powered antenna work, and it's sad because it's written right on the box. The antenna will only amplify signals that you already receive, but are too weak to provide a clear picture. It won't magically cause you to receive signals that you don't already get. If you aren't getting any channels with this thing, then you aren't in broadcast range to begin with and you'll need to find another alternative. Most cable companies will provide broadcast-over-cable service where they pipe all of the local channels to you over a cable so they come in perfectly clear. You still have to pay, but it's pretty cheap from most providers. In short: THIS ISN'T A MAGIC BOX like some people seem to think it should be.

Cordless? Do you even know how electricity works?

Kingwin ATS-W28 Cordless Wrist Strap
Kingwin ATS-W28 Cordless Wrist Strap

Pros: Absolutely none unless you consider placebo a pro.

Cons: I got this thing free with something else I bought years ago. "Cordless" anti-static straps are known to be next to useless. The laws of physics are pretty clear on this issue. These *could* be mildly effective if (and only if) there was a capacitor inside that collected and held the charge and dissipated it while you weren't wearing it, but I saw no capacitor inside, only a resistor. It isn't as if anti static wrist straps with cords and alligator clips are expensive. Don't fool around with this.

Overall Review: I'm an electrical engineering major.

It's a $6 mic, it meets expectations

Cyber Acoustics ACM-1B Charcoal 3.5mm Connector Monitor/Lapel Microphone
Cyber Acoustics ACM-1B Charcoal 3.5mm Connector Monitor/Lapel Microphone

Pros: - $6. I can't see how you could go wrong. - Voice pickup is exceptional, especially considering some other reviews that say you had to have it clipped to your collar in order to get decent sound. I've got mine attached to my monitor and I don't even have to talk loudly and I can be heard with no problems - Did I mention that it was $6?

Cons: - Poor sound quality. It's a $6 mic, what did you expect? It's not unusable, it's just a bit muffled sounding. Almost like the mic is stuffed inside of a pillow. - The double stick tape lasted about 15 minutes before it fell off of my monitor. I cleaned the surface with rubbing alcohol before sticking it on, so it should have been ok. Not a big deal, though. I have plenty of 3M double stick tape around here so I fixed it right up. - The "clip" to attach it to your collar is pretty unusable. I didn't plan on using it this way anyhow, so no problem for me.

Overall Review: - Like everyone else said, it looks nothing like the pictures unless you stand really far away and squint.

Dead after three days

Seagate DB35 Series 7200.2 ST3160212ACE 160GB 7200 RPM 2MB Cache IDE Ultra ATA100 / ATA-6 3.5" Hard Drive Bare Drive
Seagate DB35 Series 7200.2 ST3160212ACE 160GB 7200 RPM 2MB Cache IDE Ultra ATA100 / ATA-6 3.5" Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: It was only $17 with free shipping.

Cons: Dead after three days. Drive still spun and was detected by motherboard and OS install CD but would it could not be formatted or partitioned. Seems the read/write heads went out.

Overall Review: I never buy refurbs but this was only $17 and had rather good reviews for refurbs so I decided to give it a shot. Didn't need a very large drive to build my girlfriend's daughter a box to play Minecraft on, so this would have been perfect. Newegg paid to have it shipped back so I didn't have to, which was awesome. There are no more in stock so I couldn't get a replacement. Newegg policy won't refund for refurbished items but since it was out of stock they refunded me anyway. Thanks Newegg. That's why I continue to shop with you.

Works great

Rosewill HDMI Cable 6 ft., Support 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) and HD 1080p, HDMI Cord 6 Feet Black Male to Male, Gold Plated Connectors, Ethernet/Audio Return Channel, RC-6-HDM-MM-BK-3
Rosewill HDMI Cable 6 ft., Support 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) and HD 1080p, HDMI Cord 6 Feet Black Male to Male, Gold Plated Connectors, Ethernet/Audio Return Channel, RC-6-HDM-MM-BK-3

Pros: 6 feet for cheap, but it's not cheap quality. I use it to connect to my 48 inch 1080p TV which is pretty amazing.

Cons: It refuses to cook me breakfast.

My second and last RaidMax PSU

RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-530SS 530W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch
RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-530SS 530W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Power Supply, New Version with Build-in LED Fan On/Off Switch

Pros: Modular cables reduce the amount of clutter and airflow restriction. Nice blue LED

Cons: With my first RX-530 I had no idea how loud this sucker is when you have a high end video card drawing power from it. The worst problem is that the 6+2 pin connectors for the video card are so poorly designed that the cable itself sticks straight out of the video card and into one of my case fans. I had to disconnect the fan because of this. As if this weren't bad enough, my case has beveled side panels to give more room inside. If I had straight, flat side panels, I wouldn't even have been able to put the side panel back on. Clearly, this is all unacceptable so I have purchased a Corsair PSU and once it arrives I will be returning the RaidMax one.

Overall Review: My first RX-530 lasted for about four years until the fan died and the PSU overheated and blew out. There is some chance that this was my fault so I won't hold that against RaidMax, but this problem with the ultra stiff, poorly designed 6+2 pin PCI-e power connectors is just plain not acceptable.
