Best bang for the buck.
Pros: Just purchased this CPU while building a new system for a client. He's upgrading from a socket 423 1.3GHz P4 to this. Works flawlessly in his new CAD system.
Cons: None whatsoever.
Overall Review: Would have gone with an opteron normally for a CAD workstation, but the customer felt that a professional series graphics card was enough for him.
Comments: Great board... if you baby it. Why put 4 memory slots in if only 2 work right?? Many of my applications crash from memory failure (WoW, HL2, Doom3...). I know the RAM itself is good because it worked just fine in my old ASUS board. It overclocks great, no problems there. I can't find a 64-bit uguru driver. These are the kind of problems you can expect from a cheap motherboard, not one this pricey. Sorry but based on the price, I hate this thing.
Compact, does what it's supposed to.
Pros: Great little ITX package.
Cons: None really, I researched my selection with the manufactuer before buying.
Overall Review: I got this to use as an NAC with the flexibility to fill whatever purpose later. You will need an ITX power supply to power an ITX form factor board; common sense right? Sometimes I wonder...
good for the money
Pros: Well... at least the 10/100 part wasnt a lie.
Cons: Considering the physical limitation of a 32 bit PCI slot is 133MBPS, it is impossible for this card to operate in gigabit mode.
Overall Review: The ethernet controller on the card may be rated for gigabit, but the interface it uses it way too slow. I gave it a 3 only because the value of the card balances out the false model name.
Great Card
Pros: Good power, I work with these cards almost on a daily basis.
Cons: Would be nice if they would use GDDR4 like on the x1950xtx cards. Also, why aren't they making this in a 1GB version?
Overall Review: Heh... You state that your tech level is high, yet you need instructions on how to install a VGA card.
Wonderful card
Pros: ATI optimized games preform perfectly on all max settings at 1680x1050.
Cons: Size; I work for a company that manufactures these and I have to say... I wish they would just make it single slot, however everyone is using the ATI design heatsink and not their own.
Overall Review: Gotta love the folks who put anything over average understanding on a product when they need the instruction manual just to install it.
