Easy set-up and app to make changes
Pros: Simple to set up. Guest network available. Ability to turn off internet access at a specific time in case your kids should be in bed sleeping.
Cons: No rate limiting for specific devices or guest network. Not much granularity on the controls. No port mirroring available in case you want to do some traffic analysis. Price a bit high for the available options. You pay for the simplicity.
Overall Review: I would recommend this router if you're the tech person your family calls when they have questions. It's easy to set up and pretty reliable. The app is not without flaws (like trying to connect to the internet when you press the help button after troubleshooting why you don't have an internet connection) but overall it's a pretty good simple wireless router.
Did not charge connected devices
Pros: Recognized devices, good transfer speed
Cons: Did not charge any connected device
No admin interface available
Pros: The Hitron CODA unit arrived promptly. A call to my provider got it activated on my account. The documentation is sparse but adequate. Included power cord and LAN cable are in the six foot range, adequate for my usage. Works with Grande Communications / Astound Broadband
Cons: My connection is supposed to be a 600 Mbps download rate. Getting less than 200 Mbps with this unit. What's worse- there is NO ADMIN INTERFACE! So you can't log into the modem and troubleshoot.
Overall Review: This unit is a black box from the end user's point of view. I don't recommend it.
Excellent device replaces more expensive scanners
Pros: Small enough to leave in place permanently if you want to do long term logging. Many software packages available to use the data gathered from the device. Many different software packages are available to log and interpret the data you acquire.
Cons: The advantage of a dedicated scan tool is the software is built into the device. This tool can be used with many different software packages and you'll need to do some research to find one with the capabilities you want.
Acceptable for a sub $200 smartphone in most respects
Pros: Bright screen, good volume, good voice clarity
Cons: Battery life, very thin and slippery device
Overall Review: Battery must be charged two or three times a day if you're surfing on your breaks at work. I've found about ninety minutes of usage depletes a full charge to less than 20% remaining. Very slick in the hand. I suggest a case to prevent drops and damage.
Too much bloatware, but most can be uninstalled
Pros: Good price, good performance for the price.
Cons: Roughly twelve programs of dubious value to a consumer. Thankfully, most are not locked as a system app and can be uninstalled.
Overall Review: If you uninstall the bloatware before applying the available Android updates the optimization process goes faster.
Shipped quickly, item as described
I'm happy with my purchases from Bluemall.
