Great low power CPU

AMD Sempron 3850 - Sempron Kabini Quad-Core 1.3 GHz Socket AM1 25W AMD Radeon HD 8280 Desktop Processor - SD3850JAHMBOX
AMD Sempron 3850 - Sempron Kabini Quad-Core 1.3 GHz Socket AM1 25W AMD Radeon HD 8280 Desktop Processor - SD3850JAHMBOX

Pros: Uses a max of 25W. 4 logical cores. Very cool running for an AMD processor. Low cost. Can run passively cooled without any noticeable decrease in performance, though active cooling is still preferable. Radeon HD 8280 onboard graphics perform exceptionally well.

Cons: Performance is under that of my laptop with an Intel Pentium B980. Only has enough bandwidth to run single channel memory. Graphics clock maxes out at 450MHz.

Overall Review: For a low power ultra compact system, this is perfect. Though not enough power to do more than web browsing, video streaming and other simple media needs. For what this offers it's still a great processor. If you are having lag issues when watch youtube videos for instance, make sure to dedicate at least 1GB for graphics use in the BIOS. Solved the issue, plus all my components performed slightly better. -ASRock AM1B-ITX -AMD Sempron 3850 1.3GHz -Corsair XM3 1333MHz 8GB (2x4GB) -Samsung P800 TH 64GB SSD -10" x 8.25" x 2.5" ultra compact case

Great Heatsink, horrible fans

Thermaltake Frio Overclocking-Ready Intel Core i7 (6-core ready) & i5 Compatible Five 8mm Heatpipes Dual 120mm Fans Intel & AMD Universal CPU Cooler CLP0564 - Retail
Thermaltake Frio Overclocking-Ready Intel Core i7 (6-core ready) & i5 Compatible Five 8mm Heatpipes Dual 120mm Fans Intel & AMD Universal CPU Cooler CLP0564 - Retail

Pros: Good looking heatsink. Nice and big for better cooling. Can use 2 fans to increase heat dissipation. 5 8mm heatpipes with nickle plating looks better than copper color. Large nickle plated copper base that contacts the whole CPU face compared to round stock heatsinks.

Cons: Mounting solution is poorly designed. 4 small nuts hold the heatsink in place from the bottom of the board. Backplate doesn't stay when heatsink is removed meaning those who are using a case without the CPU cut-out need to remove the motherboard to get the heatsink off and then the CPU. If your case does have the CPU cut-out, installation almost requires 2 people. One to hold the heatsink on and the other to screw on the nuts. After 2 days of use the 2 fans started to grind ever so slightly yet noticeably annoying.

Overall Review: This is a great heatsink once installed and with different fans. With both included fans my i5-3570K at stock frequency idled around 23C. After I replaced both fans with 2 COUGAR CF-V12HPB (without using the PWM due to the horrible buzzing sound they produce) my temps now idle at 14C at about 1000RPM. Performance wise this is a great heatink, but for $60 the mounting solution and fans should be much better than they are.

Works perfect, though a little concerning

ZOTAC GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB, ZT-90501-10P
ZOTAC GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB, ZT-90501-10P

Pros: Works exactly like it should. True boost clock is the same as my reference ASUS 980ti.

Cons: Runs quite a bit hotter than my first reference 980ti, even on its own. Possibly received a refurbished or used card.

Overall Review: My concerns about this card are as follows: -Screws holding the cooler on (not the 4 with the springs) look like they have been slightly stripped -There is evidence that a tamper-proof sticker was at one time on one of the 4 heatsink screws but has since been rubbed off -GPU had enough thermal compound to be used on 2 1/2 GPUs I don't know whether I received a refurbished or used card but either way after replacing the thermal compound everything works to my liking as a second card in a SLI setup. I am just concerned about the real reason why it looks used even though everything else points to new.

WHAT A CASE!!!!!

Phanteks Evolv PH-ES515E_AG Anthracite Gray Aluminum / Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Phanteks Evolv PH-ES515E_AG Anthracite Gray Aluminum / Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Beautifully crafted case that's simple yet stylish. Large unobstructed interior makes building easier. Grommets are in just the right places for clean cable management. Side panels are hinged at the rear and swing outward and can then be lifted off. Even with a side panel window the 3mm thick aluminium panel doesn't flex like most do. 2 SSD and 2 HDD mounts are hidden under the PSU cover keeping the interior clean looking. 5 (3 included) removable SSD/HDD hanging trays can be mounted inside for additional storage capacity. Top fan/radiator bracket slides out making installation easier. More than enough space and mounting points for large radiators. Multiple places for mounting pumps and reservoirs. Front comes off by pulling from the bottom plate revealing a large removable dist filter which has a handle.

Cons: Side window isn't tinted like the mATX and windowed iTX versions are. Plastic I/O panel clips break easily, though not really a con as it actually looks better with it off. Only supports up to 3 dual-slot graphics cards.

Overall Review: I got this as a review case and as such it is a pre-production model so there are some issues with it such as the front SSD tray mounting being a bit tighter than it should be and the top fan/radiator bracket being a bit more snug that preferred. Aside from these minor issues this case is perfect. It's as good looking as it if functional and I would not hesitate to order more just for the sake of having them. This case does NOT disappoint.

Great card with a minor issue

GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 960 4GB G1 GAMING OC EDITION, GV-N960G1 GAMING-4GD
GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 960 4GB G1 GAMING OC EDITION, GV-N960G1 GAMING-4GD

Pros: Runs all but the most demanding games on high-ultra settings. Very quiet in terms of fan noise. WINDFORCE light is controlable through NVIDIA Geforce Experience. Overclocks a decent amount. Metal backplate has the brushed aluminum look (well it IS brushed aluminium). Fan shroud is metal.

Cons: Thermal compound is a joke. If you've ever seen the dried-up compound used on the older 8400gs cards then you'll know what this compound is like. Doesn't overclock as well as my MSI GTX 960 Gaming 4G does.

Overall Review: Being the heat snob that I am I replace the thermal compound on every graphics card I own with Arctic Silver 5. I haven't seen such poor compound used on a graphics card since the 8400gs cards. After replacing the compound temps dropped about 4C. That's quite a bit. Now on a better note the WINDFORCE LED lighting isn't a bluish-turquise color like the photos show it to be. It's pure blue. At full brightness it does have a slight turquise look to it but nothing like the photos.

MSI continues to amaze

MSI GeForce GTX 960 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support ATX Graphics Card GTX 960 GAMING 2G
MSI GeForce GTX 960 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 SLI Support ATX Graphics Card GTX 960 GAMING 2G

Pros: Highly overclockable on both the core and memory. Dead silent even with fans at 100%. LED MSI dragon logo light is a nice touch. Never reaches 65C with default fan curve even when overclocked. Beautifully designed heatsink with red accents in just the right places.

Cons: Coil whine, but it's to be expected when being pushed to its absolute limits.

Overall Review: My first GTX 960 was the 100ME edition of this card. Being able to push it past 1600MHz boost point didn't take much. This card is no exception. +273MHz core and +496MHz on the memory translates to a core clock of 1.4GHz with a boost clock over 1.6GHz and memory at 8GHz. That kind of performance fir a $200 card is just mindblowing. I hughly recommend this card if you're on a tight budget and want a card that you can overclock like no other.
