X-FI External USB

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 SB1090 5.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz USB Interface Sound Card
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 SB1090 5.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz USB Interface Sound Card

Pros: It seems to do what it says it does. I am using this with Logitech X-540 Speakers. I am getting 5.1 sound through all speakers without having to resort to using the Matrix Mode to re-create 5.1 sound. USB interface was a necessity for me. I am out of available PCI slots and my PCI x 1 Slot is blocked by a ill placed motherboard heatsink. Had all the connections for my surround system and was pretty self explanitory.

Cons: I could see where this device would get the average to low tech user in some trouble. It really isnt hard to get it all working but it wasn't exactly easy. After hooking up my whole system I did have to play around with the audio settings in both the creative control panel and win 7 audio control panel to make it work. I did take the advice of other reviewers by installing the latest drivers from creative website first before actually plugging it into the usb port. Win 7 WILL load default drivers for the device if you do this before installing latest ones from Creative. What I did was go to the website and download only what I needed which was the driver suite for this device and the driver for the Alchemy (fixes some issues with games). I then plugged it in and Win 7 did the rest. When I registered product it did have some update process it wanted to do but I saw what it wanted to install on my computer and it was bloatware that I was not going to use anyway so I canceled that.

Overall Review: You can get this to work! It might take some research!Do not give up after 2mins because your lazy and you just want to whine and RMA w/o giving it a shot. You will not be dissappointed if you can stick it out and troublesoot your problems! Volume control was not totally necessary for my set-up as the Logitech speaker volume knob controls my volume which made that feature kind of useless. I do have a SB Arena Headset sold here and I occasionally use it to adjust volume. I read another review that says from talking to Creative Support that this unit only recreates 5.1 and it is not TRUE 5.1 surround sound. Is there any backing to this claim or documentation that proves your statement?? I would like to know myself now that you peaked my intrest... HDTV Antenna

TERK HDTVa Amplified Directional Indoor HDTV Antenna
TERK HDTVa Amplified Directional Indoor HDTV Antenna

Pros: This product overall did not give me any more channels than the antenna that came with my 950Q Happaugue TV Tuner although it was less finicky with where it could be placed in order to recieve them. I was alble to place in more locations without having to really fuss with it.

Cons: Price maybe? Seems a bit high for what it does. As others have stated I have yet to see a difference when turning on the unit for the "amplified high gain signal". When it is set to off it shows really no difference. Took up another plug on my APC surge / battery backup unit.

Overall Review: It does work well but not as I had hoped. I thought I might be able to pick up more stations than I previously was already recieving. I will admit that my room is not optimized to recieve the signals as there are two directions from antennaweb.com that are best for my situation where I have walls that would interfere with signals. My windows are in the opposite directions. It does pick up the HD stations and plays them back in Windows 7 Media Center pretty well. It wasnt a option to have a ugly outside antenna installed on the roof or in the yard so for my purposes it does suffice my needs.

DOA

CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750 W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Cant say much when it does not work

Cons: Was the replacement PSU for the first Corsair PSU I ordered that was also DOA. That one was a CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX750 V2.. Two brand new Corsair PSU's and two DOA paperweights arrived at my door.. Starting to make me rethink that Corsair is the top manufacturer of PSU's like i had thought.. Kinda fishy that two different models and neither one was shipped in working condition.. If this replacement does not come in working condition I think my business for PSU's elsewhere.

Overall Review: Newegg reps were extremely helpful even though I was pretty upset at time of call.. Customer service was shockingly amazing.. Thats how you keep people as customers for life. Thanks! Corsair - What the heck man? Whats going on?

AMD FX-6200 - FX-Series Zambezi 6-Core 3.8GHz (4.1GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Desktop Processor - FD6200FRGUBOX
AMD FX-6200 - FX-Series Zambezi 6-Core 3.8GHz (4.1GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Desktop Processor - FD6200FRGUBOX

Pros: Got this baby up to 4.2Ghz on stock voltage just by bumping multi up a few notches... Using ASRock 990FX Extreme 3. I think I could go further as I reused my Zalman Cooler from my AM2+ setup ( which was nice that it was able to be reused on this board) Temps are just fine and dandy.

Cons: Think that these 6 / 8 core processors were a tad bit hyped up no matter which one you get... I dont see a crazy difference between this and my 945BE for just everyday computing.

Overall Review: My benchmarks however were significantly better running 3dMark06 / 11 ... During the processor test my old CPU the screen would stutter more than anything, this baby seems to eat that test for lunch.. LOL

FPS issues?

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim PC Game
Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim PC Game

Pros: This is not so much of a review as I have not hardly touched surface of this game..... Game is sick so far!

Cons: Just wanted to state Im already experiencing really bad frame rates droops.. From like 34-45 FPS down to like 8-10..

Overall Review: Its stuttering bad on a HD5850 with a 945BE processor. Have my card OC'ed to 1200/1000 and processor OC'ed to 3.4Ghz and from what I can see its only using like 50-65% of my processor in-game, very wierd as other games use like 99% all the time... Possible driver issues again? After RAGE I cant take much more...

Still unplayable as of 11/11/11

Rage PC Game
Rage PC Game

Pros: none anymore - I havent been able to play the game since i installed it w/o some sort of graphical error, desktop crash or some annoying driver issue.

Cons: Driver Issues BIG TIME Lack of any video tweaking abilities Lack of a solution to driver issues from either AMD or ID Software. Also no one owning up to the problem and giving a apology. MANY people who own AMD cards are in the same positon as me.. Its November 11th 2011, this game came out when??? And I still cant play?

Overall Review: To the comment saying you need a high end system to play this game is false, check the specs in the details section. I dont think a Dual Core with a 9800GT or equivalent AMD card is "High End"... Last time I checked that was probably the majority of what PC users who game occasional have. Minimum: OS: Win XP SP3, Vista, Win 7 Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo or Equivalent AMD Memory: 2GB Hard Disk Space: 25GB Video Card: GeForce 8800, Radeon HD 4200 Recommended: OS: Win XP SP3, Vista, Win 7 Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad or Equivalent AMD Memory: 4GB Hard Disk Space: 25GB Video Card: GeForce 9800 GTX, Radeon HD 5550 With that being said I have a Sapphire HD 5850 overclocked to 1000/1250 with a AMD 945 Quad OC'ed to 3.4GHZ and I still cant get this game to run smoothly even with all stock settings for all components. Running Windows 7 32bit Home Edition as well.. REFUNDS should of been made available to users that still cannot play, someone needs to bite it and it shouldn
