good color under low light and linux support
Pros: good color under normal and low light works under windows XP, Windows 2003, and Linux (tested under fedora core 4) Works with VideoLan Client (VLC for Windows and Linux)
Cons: none
Overall Review: Logitech should put Linux under their official support for their products.
RAID firmware upgrade 3.2.20
Pros: The card works and sees the device connected to it.
Cons: It seems that the card with 3.2.10 RAID firmware does not compatible with some modern motherboard using USB mouse and keyboard. It will prevent my Dell E521 from boot into HD if any device is connected to it. Although BIOS sees all HDs and passes tests on all HDs. Upgrade RAID firmware to 3.2.20 seems to be the solution.
Overall Review: There is little document about how to upgrade the RAID firmware to 3.2.20 on this card. On my other older SIL0680A-based PCI RAIDs, install driver 1.2.25.1 and flash the new BIOS online. The same way does not work for this card. The vendor should provide BIOS flash utility on their web site.
bad HDMI cable
Pros: The 4K TV is still working well as a 4K monitor
Cons: The include blue HDMI cable is causing lot of issues: bad sound and red dots on where should be black.
Overall Review: This is an update from my last year's review. reduced one star for the bad HDMI cable.
One port died
Pros: Great when all ports are working.
Cons: One port died after about 6 month of use
CPU overheat after a while of usage
Pros: 8 cores at good price
Cons: PC shutdown due to CPU overheat (82 C and higher) if any core is heavy loaded. CPU FAN is running at 3500 RPM. The CPU heat sink is too hot for finger to touch.
Overall Review: Set CPU maximum power to 50% in Windows and fixed the CPU overheat issue. The CPU temperature is below 40 C now.
Works as repeater as well
Pros: Great price. Works in 3 different modes(router mode, AP mode, repeater mode). Has 4x 100Mbs ports. Tomato compatible.
Cons: No giga ports. 2.4GHz only.
Overall Review: I bought it to use as repeater. Easy setup using stock firmware.
