Great for a simple Media Center

MSI Hetis 865GV-E Intel Socket 478 Intel 865GV Barebone
MSI Hetis 865GV-E Intel Socket 478 Intel 865GV Barebone

Pros: Really a beauty. Compact, yet easy to handle and install everything. Paired with a celeron prescott 2.1GHz, works like a charm for Media Center, even with the integrated 865G Intel video, as long as you turn off the "check for media center compliancy". Even tried with 720p video, smooth as silk.

Cons: Not really any that i can see, apart from only 2 PCI, no AGP. Although is worth mentioning that the included CPU fan is effective, but a tad hard to install. And the video memory allocation is limited to only 16 MB. But as said earlier, works fine in MCE 2005.

Overall Review: If i had to buy again, i would. The Intel 865 chipset was and still is a great performer.

Pros: Everything! Purchased 8 of these dual-channel packs, every one of them arrived neatly packed, and working flawlessly. First 4 purchased on April, other 4 on May... as someone said, we immediatelly ordered more thanks to low price.

Cons: They went up in price. But surely will drop again.

Overall Review: Compliant with finiky Intel 965 chipset motherboards. Got [5.6] on Vista Ultimate x64 memory rating.

So far, so good

Pros: SFF... great construction, on par with Shutt1e SFF. All aluminum, except for front bezel. Not loud at all, and doesnt overheats. All copper heatsink, great quality.

Cons: Remote control only works with included software, although it seems you can download other IR control software, and reassign the buttons, making it MCE friendly.

Overall Review: Everything works as advertised, although i wouldve wanted a more recent bios, say mid-half 2005 to present, not 2004.
