No Errors...Yet

Seagate NAS HDD ST2000VN000 2TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s Internal Hard Drive
Seagate NAS HDD ST2000VN000 2TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s Internal Hard Drive

Pros: Bought 4 for my Synology NAS. All were functional upon arrival, and I have had no errors for 4 months. Satisfied.

Cons: They're HDDs, so they *will* fail eventually.

Most Critical Review

Glad It Was Free

Drawstring Backpack
Drawstring Backpack

Pros: Free.

Cons: Cheap construction, uncomfortable to wear, limited cargo space, doesn't look professional, Newegg wasted money on everyone.

Overall Review: I appreciate Newegg's desire to reward faithful customers, but a $5 gift card would have been a much more meaningful gesture. The popularity of these bags came and went in 2010. For good reason, too, since the "straps" dig into your shoulders and anything that you put in it that isn't flat digs into your back. Plus no one wants to walk around with a giant advertisement emblazoned on their "backpack." It's unfathomable that anyone would buy one for the list price of $25. Newegg, please--next time just give people store credit. We'll get something we can use and you'll get more sales as we overspend our gift cards. Don't worry, though. I still won't ever buy computer stuff from anyone else but you guys.

Best Portable Mouse Ever

Microsoft RVF-00052 Arc Wireless USB Touch Mouse - Black
Microsoft RVF-00052 Arc Wireless USB Touch Mouse - Black

Pros: I haven't had any problems with mine. I use it with my Macbook Pro, and from the very first time I plugged the transceiver in, it's worked great. It folds flat, so it stores anywhere, and the USB transceiver sticks to a magnet on the underside so it doesn't get lost. I also get tons of "That's so cool!" and "Is that a mouse?" comments. And no one can believe it costs under $50.

Cons: It's not the most ergonomic mouse ever, but it's not meant to be. I also wish it were easier to turn the scrolling sound off. What a waste of battery power.

NAS...I mean Nice

Synology DS413 Diskless System DiskStation
Synology DS413 Diskless System DiskStation

Pros: Setup is a breeze, options are flexible, and the unit is sturdy and unobtrusive.

Cons: Customization options are almost too overwhelming.

Overall Review: I just use it as a networked backup drive.

Bargain

LITE-ON CD Burner 52X CD-R 32X CD-RW 52X CD-ROM Black IDE Model LTR-52327S

Comments: Mine works flawlessly. Like others have said, when it really spins up it's the loudest thing in your rig. If you can live with that, though, it's the best bargain in the category. NewEgg rocks, but you already knew that.

Almost Perfect

Antec Performance I P-160WF Silver 1.2mm Anodized Aluminum ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Antec Performance I P-160WF Silver 1.2mm Anodized Aluminum ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Comments: A- for looks. Aluminum is nice. Plastic bezel (front panel) is fine, but that silly rotating thing at the top is stupid looking. Window (with blue lights inside) makes the case. A+ for sound. Very little. The two fans that came with it (one with blue LEDs) are whisper quiet. A+ for cooling. The two 120 mm fans plus the two in the PS are plenty to keep it cool. Plus the aluminum acts like one big heatsink. B- for assembly. My drive cages were so tight I thought I was going to break something. C- for instructions. Now which screws am I supposed to use for that? Had to go back numerous times because I used the wrong ones. I recommend taking off all the side panels before you build. I wish I had.
