Having Good Luck

Pros: Works. I like the UEFI. Overclocks like butter. Quick support from ASRock. Works fine, fail safe, drains to the bilge. During installation during the first power up, it won't do anything. I called Silverstone to confirm power supply was good. Then I called ASRock and they helped me identify a bad USB 2.0 connector in my old Thermaltake Armor case. After that it was smooth sailing. One cool thing was that the Front Panel USB 3.0 Header that ships with the board also serves as a mount for 2.5" Drives, so my SSD is there now.
Cons: None that have surfaced yet.
Overall Review: I got the board as part of a combo purchase with the ever elusive 3930K and I was pretty nervous having read all the negatives about ASRock boards. I was replacing an EVGA X58 that was blown up in a lighting strike. However, every X79 board sold here is getting thrashed, so I figured, why not. Great features and a good price. I am very pleasantly surprised at how easy this was to set up. This machine is going to get hammered doing HD Video trans-coding, so stability is a serious concern. After playing with several combinations I am running: 4500MHz vcore 1.289 CPU temp solid at 65C While I am writing this review Prime 95 is banging away for the 18th hour. Yup, I'm stress testing and surfing at the same time. CPU: 3930K MB: ASRock X79 Extreme6/GB Mem: Ripjaws Z Series 32GB 1600 SSD: Crucial M4 128 Power: SilverStone 1000W ST1000-P Video 1: EVGA GeForce GTX 570 HD Superclocked 1280 Video 2: PNY Quadro FX 1800 Cooling: Corsair Hydro Series H100
Not what I hoped for

Pros: They are red
Cons: There are NOT XMP 1.3.
Overall Review: I thought memory designed for x79 would be xmp 1.3, however these are not. My ASRock x79 extreme 6 will not enable xmp on 1.2 modules. Suck.
Wow

Pros: Great value compared the 1366 offerings.
Cons: Hard to get.
Overall Review: I was going to replace my lightning damaged EVGA X58 system with the same or build a dual proc system with a Supermicro MB, but decided on this instead. I'm really glad I did. Hands down the easiest over-clock ever, massive processing power and speed, faster than my nephew's dual 5530 Xeon. Much, much faster than the X58 on any CPU. Well worth the hassle, and waiting. Current stable settings: 4500MHz vcore 1.3 CPU temp solid at 65C after 24 hrs, prime 95 CPU: 3930K MB: ASRock X79 Extreme6/GB Mem: Ripjaws Z Series 32GB 1600 SSD: Crucial M4 128 Power: SilverStone 1000W ST1000-P Video 1: EVGA GeForce GTX 570 HD Superclocked 1280 Video 2: PNY Quadro FX 1800 Cooling: Corsair Hydro Series H100
Add confusion to your system build

Pros: Great for routine use. Feels nice, looks fabulous.
Cons: BIOS? What's a BIOS? This keyboard doesn't want to know it. There are several hundred complaints in the Logitech Keyboard Forum about this unit. It apparently has it's own little boot cycle, why? who freakin' knows. At any rate, Your computer will POST before this thing wakes up. Under normal use that's fine. However if you are doing a new system build, it can lead to a lengthly cluster-f**k. I know because I did it.
Overall Review: I like the keyboard, I just need to keep a cheap one nearby just in case.
Outstanding

Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing deadly, control takes a bit of trial and error, but it works fine.
Overall Review: The sound is very, very good. When a piano sounds like a piano, you know something good is happening. I can't believe it's marketed to gamers, the sound is so lovely and subtle. You wanna crank it? Have at it, you'll lose your hearing before they distort, just make sure to dial in your preferred EQ in Itunes first, you may as well go deaf happy.
Very nice system

Pros: Packaging is bomb proof, documentation is pretty good, instant support when you buy in this configuation. Quiet, comes with CPU coolers. Outstanding build quality, hard drive back plane. Smokin' fast.
Cons: Needs more than 6 SATA drive contral native, I wish it had a firewire up front. Power supply fan never stops.
Overall Review: Configured with (2) 5520 Xeons, 12GB ECC memory, Quadro graphics. (2) 320 Samsung in Raid 0 for video cache, 1 TB Samsung for Windows 7 64 bit, 1TB for storage, Pioneer 12X Blu Ray Burner, twin HP 2159. This thing is VERY fast. There were no issues during the install that were the fault of the MOBO. One biggy was the Logitech Illuminated keyboard, if you plan to enter BIOS you can't use this board, confirmed by Logitech (stupid). Also added front panel head phone and mic jacks.... no workey. Needs Azalia HD audio dongles, AC 97's are a big fat no go. Boot times are very quick with the C version of the Bios. I love this thing.
