Nice board, okay cooling

ABIT IP35 Pro LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard
ABIT IP35 Pro LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Nice layout, plenty of features, quality components, lots of bios tweaks. Overall, 4 eggs.

Cons: Was not impressed with stock cooling solution. The only copper is at the chipset base, everything else is painted aluminum. Removal revealed poor contact with moffsets due to heatsink being slightly bent, raising one side of heatsink. Also, heatpipe makes contact with a board component between chipset and moffsets.

Overall Review: I love Abit and hope they make a solid comeback. Need to focus on cooling solution quality. Poorly milled aluminum painted to look like copper is not what I expected.

Most Critical Review

Aluminium yes, sturdy no

ASUS 15.6" Intel Core i3-3217U 4GB Memory 24GB SSD Windows 8
ASUS 15.6" Intel Core i3-3217U 4GB Memory 24GB SSD Windows 8

Pros: Aluminium surface area, island style keyboard, light, very quiet, decent touchpad, easy access to main drive and memory.

Cons: Keyboard NOT backlit, horrible viewing angles, flimsy feeling screen bezel, cheap plastic hinges.

Overall Review: I was looking for an Intel 3rd gen based laptop for some time. I wanted something light, cool running, decent looking, with an island style keyboard. For the most part, this laptop meets my requirements. I installed an SSD, 8GB (2x4) memory, Windows 7 64-bit, and am using the internal Sandisk 24GB mSATA as an additional drive. Those are the positives. On the negatives, I'm dissapointed with the screen quality and flimsy feel of the entire lid. I was not expecting a stellar screen, but these viewing angles are horrible, easily the worst screen I've ever used. The screen panel feels quite flimsy too. I have to open it dead center very gently or it bends. The aluminium backing is very thin and is merly cosmetic, as it contributes little to the lid's rigidity. The front bezel fails to contribute to rigidity as well. It's thin, cheap plastic and flexes quite easily. Lastly, I was hoping for a backlit keyboard. Two website reviews mention a backlit keyboard for the i5 and i7 version. I had hoped the i3 version would have it too. So while the laptop meets my requirements, I feel Asus could have done a better job with screen quality and lid rigidity. I hope you're listening Asus.. I'd NOT have purchased this thing if I'd been able t touch and feel it first..

I love flagship Ti series cards!

ASUS TUF Gaming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti OC Edition Graphics Card (PCIe 4.0, 24GB GDDR6X, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4a, Dual Ball Fan Bearings, Military-grade Certification, GPU Tweak) TUF-RTX3090TI-O24G-GAMING
ASUS TUF Gaming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti OC Edition Graphics Card (PCIe 4.0, 24GB GDDR6X, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4a, Dual Ball Fan Bearings, Military-grade Certification, GPU Tweak) TUF-RTX3090TI-O24G-GAMING

Pros: I'm late to the review party for the Asus TUF 3090Ti, but I can tell you, I only use Asus motherboards and graphics cards. I'm sold on Asus' automated manufacturing. You can see the quality with Asus PCBs and components.. I've torn coolers off to inspect. Those days are over though, I'm very confident of Asus build quality, I'm not tearing any more coolers off. Lots of reviews for the card, so I'll leave with saying WOW, look at the shipping box! Asus is individually packaging these cards in a thick walled outer box, with the retail inner box cushioned with foam corner pads. I've never seen anything like this. But hey for the retail price, you should get this level of quality right? Awesome.. I'll keep this until the 4090 Ti is released and drops in price. It's been my strategy for years.

Cons: Card size, but hey the TUF 4090 is an inch longer! These cards need massive cooling, so they're bigger than ever. :)

Overall Review: Asus is the BEST nVidia AIB partner. Their quality is top notch..

Another great Classified card..

EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 06G-P4-4998-KR 6GB CLASSIFIED GAMING w/ACX 2.0+, Whisper Silent Cooling w/ Free Installed Backplate Graphics Card
EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 06G-P4-4998-KR 6GB CLASSIFIED GAMING w/ACX 2.0+, Whisper Silent Cooling w/ Free Installed Backplate Graphics Card

Pros: 980 Ti is a great GPU. Slap one on a robust PCB with adequate cooling for tremendous overclocking potential. While reference PCB power delivery may be adequate for overclocking, the Classified's 14+2 power circuitry is robust and reliable. The ACX 2.0 cooler does it part too. It does a great job at keeping GPU at reasonable temps. This is a great, great card folks. Love it..

Cons: it was expensive but worth it

Great tv and monitor

LG 39LB5800 39" Class 1080p 60Hz LED Smart HDTV
LG 39LB5800 39" Class 1080p 60Hz LED Smart HDTV

Pros: I contacted LG to confirm the LB5800 series uses an IPS panel with full array LED backlighting. I was looking for a good gaming monitor; so far this tv does not disappoint. It's sits on the desk nicely, no wasted real estate thanks to the sleek bezel and stand. Colors are bright and vibrant, blacks are deep, screen is plenty fast for gaming. Input from PC source is limited to 60hz on this and all other tv's anyway, so 120hz panels are irrelevant. I can confirm the tv has a gaming mode which turns off processing. I can't assign a value to input lag, but can note it feels much more responsive over my old LCD that did not have a gaming mode. I find these settings optimal for monitor/gaming: backlight = 80 contrast = 80 brightness = 50 color = 50 sharpness = 10 picture mode = game energy saving = off For tv, I've watched a few Netflix movies, streaming worked very well with no buffering, all movies tuned in at HD which looked great. The sound is okay, it's a tv so one shouldn't expect booming bass or room filling positional audio. Lastly, LG does a great job with packaging on this one. Box material is very study, with corners and center box holding fast to protect the tv during transit. Very easy to put together, had it up in running in under ten minutes. Overall, I'm liking this tv.

Cons: remote a little clumsy/old style. LG has an egglike remote that could have been included.

Wow very nice..

Ballistix Tactical 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model BLT2KIT4G3D1869DT1TX0
Ballistix Tactical 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model BLT2KIT4G3D1869DT1TX0

Pros: Okay I've never been one for over the top bling or flash; some of the memory out there looks ridiculous! This stuff looks sleek, professional, tough, and high tech all at the same time. Low profile black PCB, tough industrial looking heat spreaders, stickers are not cheap paper, they're thick matte finish plastic of some type. The matte color is MUCH more attractive than in pics. Easily the best looking ram I've owned. On performance, I grabbed two pair for 16GB total, popped them onto my Asus X79 Deluxe where they were immediately recognized and programmed in to advertised speed/voltage. Perfect operation. Quad channel pops with these! Highly impressed, thanks Crucial and Newegg.

Cons: Memory prices are up right now, more a general than specific con.

Overall Review: If you want a great performing and great looking set of memory without all the frills, strongly consider these. Even Corsair product looks cheesy compared to these. Killer military/industrial look, subdued color much more attractive than pictured. Best of all, they work from the start. Lifetime warranty from a sterling company.
