Not bad at all.

Hyperkin RetroN 5 Gaming Console - (Black)
Hyperkin RetroN 5 Gaming Console - (Black)

Pros: Plays MOST of a whole library of classic and not so classic games. Easy to use. Filter options. Upscaling. Updatable.

Cons: Made from pretty low quality plastic. Some games do not work. It is an emulation system and not the original hardware.

Overall Review: If you're into retro gaming and would like a lot more shelf space, less cable clutter, and the ability to play most of your games upscaled for hd, then buy it. If you're an absolute pixel purist and can't stand the idea of playing on a flat screen/emulator, then buy it and resell if you really don't like it. Good buy.

Is it a dud?

Elgato Game Capture HD60, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Xbox 360, or Nintendo Switch Gameplay, Full HD 1080p 60 FPS
Elgato Game Capture HD60, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Xbox 360, or Nintendo Switch Gameplay, Full HD 1080p 60 FPS

Pros: I got it to display an image.

Cons: In order for it to show up on my main screen, I must have the el gato software open on my PC screen. This was not the case with the original Game Capture HD. So far it is useless and with the quality of my original el gato it is very disappointing. Why release a product that doesn't work? Emailed Elgato about this. Still waiting on a reply.

Overall Review: Avoid this for now and get the old one. It doesn't do 60fps but at least it works properly. Again, i'm sour. Hopefully I just got a dud and this gets straightened out sooner than later.

Pure power and speed (updated review)

AMD Ryzen 7 3rd Gen - RYZEN 7 3700X Matisse (Zen 2) 8-Core 3.6 GHz (4.4 GHz Max Boost) Socket AM4 65W 100-100000071BOX Desktop Processor

Pros: Speed Power Price

Cons: None

Overall Review: Had a bad experience with the first motherboard i bought for it, RMA'd that, bought a different model, been running stable since installing. Temps top out around 62c full load, idle around 30-35c, on custom loop. 2200+ cinebench r15, very good frame rate in all games i currently play with a gtx 1070. Don't see another cpu in my future for at least 4 years, this thing is a beast.

Just missed the mark, Great CPU!

AMD Ryzen 7 3rd Gen - RYZEN 7 3700X Matisse (Zen 2) 8-Core 3.6 GHz (4.4 GHz Max Boost) Socket AM4 65W 100-100000071BOX Desktop Processor

Pros: -Lots of Cores for multitasking/streaming/editing etc. -easy to install -melt your face fast, especially for the price (got it on sale for 275-ish)

Cons: -Runs extremely, uncomfortably hot; even on a 240mm aio cooler.

Overall Review: I've finally went team Red...loving this CPU, bought it to upgrade from an i7-3770k, for gaming/editing/streaming. Heard tons of great things about it, and the price couldn't be beat imo. Upon completion of build and first boot, the first thing I notice is the BIOS telling me my CPU is running at 77c. Never had a CPU run that hot without a load, so, 2 days of troubleshooting and googling, finally got temps i'm comfortable with. Note to AMD, a public disclaimer; preferably in video form, explaining that these cpus are designed to run hotter, should've been considered. If I could get this thing to idle around 30c, and stay under 75c full load, i'd be much more comfortable with running it. Perhaps closer meetings with motherboard manufacturers, instructing them to set stock auto voltages at a more normal level, instead of the "CPU Frying" levels of voltage you get out of the box, would work better. Outside of the temp issues and no real fix in sight other than to undervolt/downclock/buy better cooling, and this chip would've absolutely knocked it out of the park. 9/10 AMD, loving it. Docked one egg for temp issues, and the fact that first time builders could potentially kill their systems before they even get to use it. I've been building and tinkering with these things for many years, and up until yesterday, never had a CPU hit 100c...this chip hit 102c, and I about had a heart attack. Hopefully just a bios issue that could be fixed with an update, not holding my breath. Other than that, absolutely outstanding. More chips like this, at this price, with better thermals, and i'd definitely consider sticking with AMD.

Good Stuff

Corsair Gaming Audio Series SP2500 High-power 2.1 PC Speaker System
Corsair Gaming Audio Series SP2500 High-power 2.1 PC Speaker System

Pros: These speakers sound awesome...great separation/ampflication...

Cons: None so far, worried about cranking them too high for too long.

Overall Review: They seem very sturdy, but I have seen some bad reviews. We'll see in the long run how they perform. For now they're A-OK

Excellent Choice if $$ isn't a factor.

ASUS AC1900 Wi-Fi Dual-band 3x3 Gigabit Wireless Router with AiProtection Network Security Powered by Trend Micro, AiMesh Whole Home Wi-Fi System Compatible (RT-AC68U)
ASUS AC1900 Wi-Fi Dual-band 3x3 Gigabit Wireless Router with AiProtection Network Security Powered by Trend Micro, AiMesh Whole Home Wi-Fi System Compatible (RT-AC68U)

Pros: FAST. Easy to setup. Great feature set. Online gaming is noticeably faster than isp provided router. Less hang ups while gaming. Extremely stable compared to things I've heard about. Wi-Fi signal reaches two houses down. When in close proximity, Wi-Fi is almost equal to Ethernet speeds.

Cons: None so far. Price.

Overall Review: If you're looking to replace an aging router, or are on a Fiber ISP and want to use your own router; this is a fantastic choice. The QoS settings are easy to configure. The WIFI has insane range and speed. Happy with this so far.
