Great Gaming Laptop
Pros: Running BF3 on high with a few modifications and have no frame rate issues. it runs cooler than I expected for having 1 fan. They really have the cooling engineered right. Those speakers are unbelievable. The matte screen is great with no glare and great color. The keyboard takes a little getting used to.. but it is working flawlessly. Very Happy with my purchase. I really like the easy access to disable the track pad when gaming.
Cons: The "S" bar software is not my favorite... you really can't get rid of it without causing problems with some controls on the keypad... I will learn to live with it. The wireless is the standard intel 130 (single freq) so the range and connection could be better. Some of the colors on the backlit keyboard appear to vary on certain keys but not a big deal.
Overall Review: Overall I am very happy with this laptop. I plan on updating the wifi card to a Intel 6200 series for dual freq capability but other than that... it will stay as is. I will say that I have been going back and forth on a couple of different laptops ie.. sager 8170, asus g74 and I am very happy with my choice. The GTX 570 and the matte screen are well worth the extra price if you are a gamer. My other concern was cooling (I have a sager with dual fans) because of just the one fan but my GPU has not gone above 74c with furmark running for 20 minutes and the manual fan control (100% constant) was turned off. There is has been a lot of discussion about the keyboard... mine works great and registers every strike.. maybe I am lucky or type harder than most.
Pros: I was concerned about purchasing this board as all of my previous builds have had Asus or Gigabyte boards in them.. I wanted to jump to the x58 chipset without breaking the bank. I'm glad I went with this board. Fired up on the first boot and has been stable as any other board I have had. The OC features are easy to understand and very adjustable. My crossfire cards are able to breath a little better with the extra space between them. This is my first ASrock MB and I see no areas where they cut corners.
Cons: Could not use my Corsair Hydro with this board in my Antec 900 due to the high profile of the Mosfett heatsink/fan. Its sits right up next to the the rear 120mm case fan. Had to go back to air cooling for now until I can rig a different mounting method for the radiator.
Overall Review: I have just began to test the OC and it appears that 3.6 GHz will be a breeze on air... So far this motherboard is great. My system: Intel i7-930 6GB Crucial Ballistix DDR3 1600 XFX 5850 x2 1TB WD HD Antec 900 Win 7 pro 64
Pros: Can't go wrong with this case. the fans are very quit on low setting and keep the heat out. enough room for the big vid cards. Nice sturdy construction. I love the tool free design.
Cons: I would be nice to have removable filters for the fans.
Overall Review: I have had many cases from xion..enlight..enermax and this one keeps my internal temps the lowest. great for gamers and/or overclockers.
