Overall Review: Installed with APC PowerChute Personal Edition software for Win XP sp3. Started getting error messages"Unable to communicate with APC battery backup" every 5 minutes. Had to install "PowerChute Personal Edition 2.0/2.2 Update Patch" even though the patch said it was for Model BR750G. This solved the problem. You can just use the XP built in battery backup manager if you don't want to load the APC's software, but the APC software gives more options for shutdown.

Pros: Cheap, high capacity.

Cons: Dead out of the box. Out $10 to return and hope the next drive is ok.

Overall Review: Look at other models from WD or other vendors. Looking at the number of 1 or 2 eggs given to this drive I should have known that the DOA and early failure rate of this drive is about 2 out of 10. The first piece of junk I have ever gotten from WD. The packaging from Newegg was well done so I don't think it was damaged in shipping.

Pros: Low Cost, works well

Cons: None so far, but used in a non over clock board.
