Prevent WD My Book Power Down
Pros: To prevent the WD My Book External Hard Drive from powering down just make an adapter to provide +5 volts to the USB type A connector on Pin 1. As long as +5 volts is connected to the WD My Book External Hard Drive it will stay powered on!
Cons: Western Digital should have put a switch on the back of the My Book External Hard Drive to disable the auto-power down feature!
NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE!
Pros: Free shipping!
Cons: Worked for about 1 hour. Then the drive shutdown. After recycling power it began to spin up and made a strange noise then shut down. Tried recycling power repeatedly, but it would only make the same strange noise, spin up and then shutdown.
Silicon Power 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Desktop Memory Kit
Overall Review: This is a very high quality memory... I have used them several times and always with good results!
Nice Case for the money!
Pros: This case is a very good value for the money. The front fan is probably not needed (I removed it). Providing a hard drive mounting bracket where the front fan was would be a improvement (the hard drive could be mounted horizontally on the front panel).
Cons: The hard drive cage is not removable. It would be better if the hard drive cage was removable by adding a couple screws and a interlocking retaining bracket.
Great motherboard & a good value!
Pros: This motherboard has plenty of USB outputs and also has complete 7.1 channel HD audio output support. I bought 3 of these motherboards and I was very pleased with their performance... what a excellent value for $60!
Cons: The locations of the 2 PCI-E X16 slots and SATA connectors are unusual, but in most cases it's not a problem.
Overall Review: The UEFI System Browser is very easy to use!
Biostar G41M7 Dead On Arrival!
Pros: This motherboard was completely Dead On Arrival. Would not boot up with a known good CPU, Memory, Hard Drive & Power Supply.
Cons: Looks Pretty
Chrome Battery Review
I ordered a 12 Volt 9 AH Sealed Lead Acid Battery and it was shipped by USPS. It was wrapped in a couple layers of bubble-wrap material (USPS Padded Flat Rate Envelopes) that did not protect it properly. The battery arrived with a large crack down the middle of it (1.5 inches long) and it was leaking. They emailed me a prepaid label and I returned the battery. The replacement battery arrived with the same 2 layers of bubble wrap and it had a big ding in one corner, but at least it wasn't leaking! I think they need to use sturdy cardboard boxes lined with spray foam or Styrofoam to protect the batteries!
