Beautifully Sleek Stick

G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-2133C11D-8GAO
G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-2133C11D-8GAO

Pros: They look awesome paired with an NZXT Phantom Newegg Case(Black and Orange) and have a metallic orange color heatsink and black PCB to them. As for performance they are really awesome but not everything I expected. Check other thoughts

Cons: Awesome but hoped for better performance

Overall Review: Well I bought these because I was going for 1866 with better latency and the final product I got was 1866 9-10-9-22-1T-31tRC stable and that is really tight timing with good speeds but was going for 1866 9-9-9-20-1T-30tRC and even with voltage tweaks no luck. I always found buying RAM that has a higher speed than your board or CPU supports and decent latency can have better performance with tighter latency on lower speeds. This was the case with these and I am still very please and notice a good bit of responsiveness since I have installed the new stick. Also AMD FX users- the rated 1866 is for single and double channel, so keep that in mind to achieve the 1866+ range you will need to stick with dual channel sticks ex. 2x4Gb, 2x8Gb, 2x2GB

Love these Samsung Drives

SAMSUNG 840 EVO SAMSUNG 840 EVO 2.5" 120GB SATA III TLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-7TE120BW
SAMSUNG 840 EVO SAMSUNG 840 EVO 2.5" 120GB SATA III TLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-7TE120BW

Pros: -One of the best drives i've used to date -All in house construction -super smooth OS performance -Built in DRAM cache -Amazing firmware with High IOPS levels -Got on sale for $69 and if looking at for $75 or less grab it now or look at 250GB and grab double for a few bucks more -RAID amazingly (Non-OS) -All black and looks awesome -Build Quality is Superb

Cons: -a little slower SATA read vs others (400-450MBs vs 500MBs+) -Not best for RAID OS but can be done with right hardware setup but my setup didn't support or wasn't made for the level I was running at an not the drives fault cause using lower realtek RAID controllers.

Overall Review: The Samsung drives have been the best drives I've used on SSD next to Plextor but with every single component being made in house with almost 0 firmware issues and only company to make its own controller Best OS drive in my opinion and is a great across the board SSD whether using for gaming, business, or just an SSD upgrade it holds it own an is designed for most computer OS situation

OCZ work drive

OCZ ARC 100 2.5" 120GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) ARC100-25SAT3-120G
OCZ ARC 100 2.5" 120GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) ARC100-25SAT3-120G

Pros: -Pricing -Made for Work based environments and has proven such -Great IOPS -Very Solid Build quality -Looks amazing (if you can see through side of your case) -Included nice 2.5" to 3.5" converter -Has newer Toshiba 19nm MLC NAND Great OCZ Barefoot 3 M10 Controller -lives up to it claim to be Rated for 20GB/day of host writes

Cons: -none that I have found so far -Better for work than gaming (but still a good gaming SSD)

Overall Review: This drive is very reliable in work based environments and has had steady sustaining read/write speeds in AutoCAD and several work computers we have installed these in. Noticed it has great sustained an not just burst speeds which helps dramatically in Adobe, AutoCAD, and such.

Great Bang for Buck

Crucial MX100 2.5" 128GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CT128MX100SSD1
Crucial MX100 2.5" 128GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CT128MX100SSD1

Pros: -Great price per performance -Marvell industrial/commercial grade controller w DRAM Cache -Decent IOPS level -Great Company w Warranty and Pricing

Cons: -Not as peppy as the better drives like Samsung and Plextor but holds it own, cause I've been running my systems on a Samsung 830 and Plextor M3S and this Crucial is just as fast but I noticed a few minor hiccups and minor lag on multi-tasking programs and some tasks that my other drives didn't experience and think the last firmware update resolved but sold this drive to friend cause I upgraded to Samsung 840s

Overall Review: The difference was minimal but if your used to instant performance you can notice a few small hiccups but if upgrading from a sandforce SSD or standard HDD, it is still an amazing drive an worth the investment. Crucial has amazing support and very competitive price range. An while the DRAM cache has become the normal on SSD, this drive has some of the largest DRAM DDR3 ranging from 256-512MB unlike other controllers that go as low as 64MB and I recommend 128MB or better. an if you can afford it with right setup buy 2 512GB and have a 1TB @ 1GBs read speeds and 1GB of DRAM cache in RAID 0 which in theory can load bandwidth data speeds in just the DRAM and helps greatly to not degrade drive and still have the performance and instant response time. Installed on a nice 4 core 650Ti HDD system and they love it and can't believe how much faster this over standard HDD but aren't all SSD better than HDD as dedicated OS drives

Great Storage for the Price and Best Sandforce 2222 firmware

Mushkin Enhanced Chronos 2.5" 480GB SATA III 7mm Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MKNSSDCR480GB-7
Mushkin Enhanced Chronos 2.5" 480GB SATA III 7mm Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MKNSSDCR480GB-7

Pros: Great size for work based environments and is running AutoCAD LT and this drive hold ups under intense multi-tasking High IOPS 1 of the top 3 SSD that have the old SandForce 2222 controller and have been using a mushkin for over 3 years and all of them running strong with no problems

Cons: None No 2.5" to 3.5" bay converter on OEM I bought

Overall Review: The price of these drives having been dropping and any deal below $160ish is sweet and great for a storage SSD for Adobe, CAD, and so on. WIth the newer SSDs with DRAM Cache tend work better for Dedicated OS drives but running this in an I7 Asus ROG laptop as OS drive and a 500GB Black for secondary storage and runs beautifully and holds it own still and this is one of the few drives that didn't have the firmware issues most had on release of this sandforce controller and has proven itself time and time again. Been running a 240GB as dedicated gaming drive for over 2 years and very little degradation and after a year of AutoCAD processing still less than 30% degradation which is impressive cause most sandforce loose 30-60% after a year and start to slow down but not these
