Excellent product, not right for me

OCZ OCZMSNIA Neural Impulse Actuator
OCZ OCZMSNIA Neural Impulse Actuator

Pros: Design works as stated. Plenty of support (and nice about it too). Lots of uses, just takes an innovative mind to think up implementations of the NIA. Excellent software to sync to NIA, program, and OCZ will update when bugs are found (I got this product early on with many bugs that were worked out in a timely manner).

Cons: I got fairly close to controlling it greatly, except brain waves. I understand the concept of getting used to the product, but for a gamer like me, I am not calm during a game. When I get into a game my mind gets excited and to control this thing correctly, you must subdue the excitement or you get off calibration. I found myself not enjoying games as much since I had to be calm. I enjoy my games through physical and emotional expressions (remember, the NIA is incredibly accurate at brain wave changes and facial expression changes which means emotionally these will change...you must control your emotions to control the NIA output correctly!). The NIA is great at detecting these and interprets them, which is what it is supposed to do, as me wanting to move, shoot, or whatever the response is in game. Why haven't they included some good way of grounding the dang thing?

Overall Review: This product receives 5 eggs for the pros listed above. The NIA simply does not fit well with my gaming enthusiasm and I will not demerit it for my personal preferences. For people looking at getting this product you need to assess two things: 1. Are you willing to put forth the time and effort to controlling the NIA and your output? 2. What type of gamer are you? Are you the gamer that jumps out of the seat at scary moments? Yells obscene remarks at the computer screen? Or do you focus intently by leaning forward and concentrating with all your might to accomplish something? Please take these two things into consideration. The NIA performs as stated and more, but the buyer needs to assess if this would fit the buyer's gamer-type. Otherwise for me, great experience, great product, just not for my type of gaming profile. Good job OCZ, now figure out the exact brain wave patterns/outputs for movement and action desires for each individual ;-)

Another disappointment

PowerColor Radeon HD 4870 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card AX4870 1GBD5-PPH
PowerColor Radeon HD 4870 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card AX4870 1GBD5-PPH

Pros: Performs great in games. Powercolor technical assistance on the phone was very helpful and I got a technician almost right away each time.

Cons: Constant flickering just like others. Tried different Catalyst drivers from 8.10 to 8.12. The technician I talked with asked me to underclock my video card to about 20-30 MHz less on the GPU and the same on the memory clock. The card produced significantly less flickering, but had the occasional flicker PLUS the card was not what I paid for at this point. The flicker happened when switching between applications or opening up a window. Basically whenever the Video RAM needed to cache something new, the screen would flicker like the resolution was being reset very rapidly. Why is this card listed as 800 MHz GPU on Newegg when it clearly states on Powercolor site AND recognized through CCC as at default 780 MHz?!?!

Overall Review: Powercolor asked if I would like to RMA through Powercolor or Newegg and I chose Newegg. This gets 3 stars because Powercolor was quick, helpful, and the card would work and be quick if I did not have a defective one. Unfortunately for this time, Newegg decided not to grant a replacement for my RMA, but instead issued a refund. In many situations this might be preferable except now to get this card again, I cannot get the rebate and free shipping this item offered when I had first bought it. To get this card after they issued the refund would cost me an extra $40 (more like $65 at the time of this review) from when I first purchased it. Not happy with the egg.

William D. is wrong

SAPPHIRE Radeon R9 290X 8GB GDDR5 PCI-E Graphics Card 100361-8GVXSR
SAPPHIRE Radeon R9 290X 8GB GDDR5 PCI-E Graphics Card 100361-8GVXSR

Pros: Great card, friend got it to game at high resolutions like 4K. All pros as others have said.

Cons: Very large.

Overall Review: I mainly posted this to point out that William D's review with 3 monitors at 6048x1080 (total of 6,531,840 pixels) is NOT a higher resolution than 4K (or rather UHD) that runs at 3840x2160 (total of 8,294,400 pixels). Real 4K resolution stands for 4 thousand horizontal pixels at 4096x2160 pixels (total of 8,847,360 pixels), but the consumer industry has cut it down to the standard in TVs as 3840x2160 (which they call UHD), which is the same resolution of 4 1920x1080 monitors put in a rectangle, which is [count them] ONE more than 3 monitors at 6048x1080. Apologies for not owning the card, but I had to bust this myth of 3 monitors is somehow more pixels than 4 monitors (requiring more processing power). Vote my comment down, but the tech industry deserves better!

Still love it

Brother HL-2270DW Wireless Monochrome Laser Printer
Brother HL-2270DW Wireless Monochrome Laser Printer

Pros: - Still working great after almost 3 years of light printing. - One of the cheapest for light printing in black/white. - Wireless and Wired connectivity

Cons: Connectivity with these Brother printers requires setup using their utility. Won't dock an egg...but tempted.

Overall Review: How else could you configure this printer without an LCD screen? I have recommended these printers to everyone looking for light black/white printing.

Great Speeds

WD Red Plus 2TB NAS Hard Disk Drive - 5400 RPM Class SATA 6Gb/s, CMR, 64MB Cache, 3.5 Inch - WD20EFRX
WD Red Plus 2TB NAS Hard Disk Drive - 5400 RPM Class SATA 6Gb/s, CMR, 64MB Cache, 3.5 Inch - WD20EFRX

Pros: - Great speeds for a 24/7 system - Reliable - 110MB/s RW on a RAID 3 Gigabit network

Cons: None

Overall Review: Running for just about a year, no failures. Sure there are faster, but these days we seem to be maxing out Gigabit with just 3 consumer drives on a network with a simple RAID controller...time to update to 10 Gigabit copper switches? Don't know how to justify that with my other half...

Price/Performance=Eggcellent

ADATA 64GB UV128 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Flash Drive (AUV128-64G-RBE)

Pros: - Great price/performance. - Sturdy construction. - Slide function works well

Cons: None

Overall Review: Not THE fastest, but great speeds on USB 3.0 and USB 2.0. I use it almost every day as an IT Engineer for my larger transfers.
