Living in NYC
Pros: I live in Queens NYC (close to Jamaica) and I pointed it towards the northeast, I got 29 channels including MSNBC, ABC, CBS and the sort as well as a few Chinese, Spanish and Korean channels. Good HD channels and pretty consistent. Minimalistic design.
Cons: Can't have a lot of interference. Luckily I already had a 25ft coax cable to wire it through the house to get a good signal. The "don't have to point it anywhere" packaging is deceiving but does get good reception if pointed correctly.
UPDATE: 1.5 Years
Pros: Functioned relatively great in the beginning. Kailh browns are probably my ideal weight. Quiet. Even more so with O-rings. Good bang for the buckk.
Cons: About 3 months ago from this post, my 'k' key would randomly double or triple strike or not at all. I play tetris almost religiously, but I legitimately do better on a rubber dome than this keyboard because the tolerances are so low that I don't even know if I passed the actuation point without bottoming out. It has messed me up on many occasions when I thought I pressed a kkey. And it would randomly double strike I believe. As evident by the random striking above, it really does start to annoy you when you're typing a paper and you miss a letter or have multiple letters here and there. It's not even worth to send it bac for warranty because this keyboard is relatively cheap and the shipping costs money.
Good, could be better
Pros: Bought it to transfer large volumes of videos to watch on the TV instead of the computer. Takes a minute or two under 10 mins to transfer 26 1GB files. Would've taken 30+ on a USB 2.0.
Cons: I very rarely use this USB. It sits in my bag most of the time with my other 16GB USB 3.0. That being said, I once tried to pull it out the back of my desktop computer and the entire rubber housing came off leaving the stick connected to my computer. It still works but it has me questioning the quality of it.
Overall Review: Before you call a dead USB or it doesn't work on a specific computer, check that your computer has its USB 3.0 drivers installed. It's detected by the computer but its driver won't install.
Tablet PC Stylus Replacement
Pros: Works great. I'm not too sure if it's 1024 or 512 levels of pressure, but it sure does feel like 1024. I bought this to replace the pen for my Surface Pro 1 after I lost it. Good for artists (I do comicking). Comes with TWO buttons as opposed to the one on Surface but doesn't have the magnetic bar to stick to the side of it. Also h as a larger round eraser button on top. It's a matte, rougher type of plastic compared to the Surface sleek, glossy and very plastic-y feel. This pen is still plastic and weighs about the same but it feels a lot better than the Surface pen. $50 for 2 when the Surface pen is $30 for 1 and doesn't come with spare nibs and nib puller. Works with all PCs with Wacom input. NOT THE STANDALONE ART TABLETS. TABLET PC / WACOM STYLUS (Galaxy Note) ONLY.
Cons: Plastic which means it's very light. But still feels better than the original surface pen. The nibs that come with it are only the white plastic nibs that are very slippery with glass screens. However, they are user replaceable with INTUOS NIBS for felt or whatever you'd like.
Nothing exceptional
Pros: Performs as rated. Nothing exceptional. Built for client. Great for budget build though. Upgrade from an old Pentium 2 for under 150.
Cons: One of the pins came in bent and I didn't realize. Almost tried forcing it until I saw the bent pin. Tweezers did the trick and didn't even need to be perfectly straight.
Overall Review: Would buy again for low tech clients. Gets the job done for those who have little need besides web browsing and watching videos.
Stay Away
Pros: When running one or two devices it runs pretty fast. Speeds are consistent. Copied 13gb movie in ~8mins with USB 3.0 drive. 4gb show in ~5mins.
Cons: 1. Fried all four of my USBs when I tried to put them all in at the same time. Lost a lot of data and the price of the USBs themselves. Luckily, 3 of which were only USB 2.0s. 2. Gets ridiculously hot. 3. Occasionally, it would have seizures and the USB devices you installed would be unplugged and "re-plugged." 4. Blue light is very bright and cannot be turned off unless the power cord is off it too. 5. 2 feet computer to hub cable, very very long power cable. 6. Round design is just impractical. It looks like a ninja star once its all completely plugged in. Basically not very organize-able.
Overall Review: I was able to put up with the occasional seizures it had. Around once a month even when I never touched my 2 port audio to usb converter. I was able to put up with the heat. I was able to put up with the annoying blue light that blinds you. I am not going to put up with frying 4 of my USBs at once when you have 4 USB ports. If you're looking for a USB 3.0 hub, look elsewhere because this hub isn't all that reliable.
