297Mhz_It Fly Really Fast!!!

Pros: Stable as a rock at 297Mhz. It's everything I could want in a mb. The layout is Excellent! RAM runs 297Mhz. As close to 1 to 1 as possible.Have a EVGA 6800GS 525core 1118Mhz ram, With an Artic Freezer 64 Pro, it runs 29C even with heavy downloads and installs. Will be online COD2 tonight.IT's the only mb I have that recognized 600Mhz ram from the first boot.
Cons: At first, I was having the exact sawe problems as the previous reviewer, almost RMA'ed it. Then I figured it out, had the large Gigabyte cooler with the 110mm fan.The problem was that the cooler wasn't going down all the way, it looked like it was, it felt tight. The black plastic piece around the cpu socket is too tight for some coolers to make adequate contact with the Athlon. I was taken mine apart to RMA it after a very frustrating evening. I was barely able to get the cooler off the board! It was incredably hard to remove. I thought, "you don't suppose this this wasn't making proper contact with the cpu to cool it". Then I put on the Artic. Bingo! That fixed it completely!!! Also had to download new bios in order to get enough voltage on the cpu so it could run 297Mhz. It doesn't like 300Mhz. So now I have Sempron 3100(Which is really cheap) running 2.673Ghz. It really performs!!!
Overall Review: Watch how your cooler fits. Oh Hell , just run the Artic Freezer 64 Pro. I running almost 2700Mhz at 28-29C. That is cool on air Oh yeah, buy all your stuff from NEWEGG!
I Like This Board

Pros: Excellent running board, has great features, overclocks well and easily. I like the audio- screams on linux Mint 16. All my computers are dual boot, Windows 8.1 and linux Mint 16 (now that it's out) It rips with a new IB in it!Am replacing my AMD 8 cores with these. The increase in performance with the same vid card you have is mind blowing. I have some GTX480's, playing secondlife online, on a not too busy sim, the fps are 175-200. On a real busy sim with lots of avatars and lots of scripts, it might get below 75fps. What's there not to like lol. It's the best solution for "future proof" Well able to handle a GTX Titan and future "monster" cards they haven't even made yet.I can't really say that about any other solution from Intel or AMD. Think about the your future in gaming. How many times do you want to keep upgrading.
Cons: The board and the proc cost mucho long green money.
Overall Review: The last one of these I bought (about a week ago out of the "new" batch newegg just recieved)has the latest bios , and thats a good thing because I put a new Ivy in it :))
great idea

Pros: lets you continue to use usable PATA devices-had some expensive DVD burners, and some ATA 100/133 hard drives. The DVD optical drives run great with one of these. Using the ATA 100/133 hard drives is at the very least, some additional storage(esp. if it's a 160/200/250gb drive) You may want to put the os in something faster. I have used an old 20/30gb drive in a linux -windows 8 box for the grub boot manager, and both os on the larger faster drive. Plus you also get a little extra storage also.
Cons: lets you continue to use usable PATA devices
Overall Review: it sure is fun using this on a mb with a 970/990 chipset, and no PATA ports--hehe
Thie Baby Rocks!

Pros: Rockin the Universe with 8 cores! Runs multiple game viewers on high settings at good fps.Overclocks like a champ...lol:) Got a bunch of them on my gaming lan. They all run at least 4200mhz. one is running 4500mhz. They all aren't gonna do that. Just starting around my lan to see how many will go past 4200mhz (with a Coolermaster Hyper 212 doing the cooling-all have Hyper 212 coolers) Just figure you bought a 4000mhz+ when you get the FX-8120 , and get a good mb and cooler-GO FOR IT dollparts!
Cons: Windows7 blows! Windows8 64bit preview KICKS! You have to reinstall Windows8 soon when the final comes out-dude thats a lota work! Windows7 is so "old" and "archaic" it cannot handle the new instruction sets (Zambezi cores) at all Windows8 is so much faster-like 50-60+fps FASTER! With every update Windows8 gets faster-am willing to put up with having massive reinstall issues to get this performance-Oh...haha the audio is better in Windows8 too!
Overall Review: the latest linux like Ubuntu 12.04 is made specifically to run the Zambezi core procs as is Windows8. Once you have run either os with 8 cores at 4000mhz+ you will never look back!!! Easy to overclock..performance is just amazing
It's a GR888 Proc!

Pros: I bought quite a few of these (15-16) to upgrade a lot of my computers. A lot had AM2+ mb's and were running either 7750 X2's oc'd to 3000-3100mhz or 8750 X3's oc' to 3000mhz. The 720's ALL oc'ed toat least 3600 mhz and some oc'ed to 3800 (1000mhzoc!) The performance increase was staggering!!! Stable-Fast,got the large L3 cache of a Phenom X4. I play Secondlife, the fps went way up, the ability to run multiple viewers on high settings went way up :)
Cons: most of my mb's won't unlock a 4th core, one out of all of them only goes to 3000 mhz, but after all they WERE only selling you a 2800 mhz proc, even that one is fast:)
Overall Review: any time you can take an existing computer and change 1(one) part and get a MASSIVE performance increase :) - you may want to consider it-uh just do it. Then I started pulling the 9800GT's out and replacing them with 460GTX and SHEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssss!!!!!!!!!!!
It Kicks!

Pros: playing Second Life in Ubuntu 10.04-OM*G is it FAST! -it runs 4 viewers at the same time on high settings> things open so fast, it's just a flash-DONE all I can say is I gotta have some more of them for other computers on my lan-it's the biggest single thing I can do to hop up my computer Rite now it plays so smooth that it looks like a movie.- am now recording movies in world
Cons: they cost a lot and don't make breakfast-haha
Overall Review: trouble free under heavy graphics intensive gaming-as I begin to build next gen computers, they will all have one-thats how sold I am on it.-currently running a 8750 X3 oc-4gb 1066-GTS 250 , and that runs so well in Second Life it's scary
