Mongo!!!
Pros: I saw an immediate drop of 15 degrees (F) when I installed this fan. And, it's quieter than anything else I've used. Installation was a snap on my ASUS P$P-800, cleared the power supply by 1/4".
Cons: It's certainly heavy...
Overall Review: This fan is both HUGE and a bit delicate. Be sure you don't try to manhandle this fan or you may bend some of the vanes.
Connection where there wasn't one before
Pros: Solid connection, holds connection well. Remembers WAP.
Cons: Seems a tad sluggish, but not enough to be a concern.
Overall Review: Bought one of these w/in the last year to add wifi to a non-wifi TV. Didn't work well with that (TV's fault, not the adapter) so I brought it down to the basement for my workbench. Got it hooked up to a small switch, it pulls a nice connection, even if I'm working with three systems at a time, and hasn't given me any trouble. No complaints.
Surprisingly...it works!
Pros: It did what it said it was going to do.
Cons: Doesn't work on antenna-less WAP's.
Overall Review: Low expectations, much higher results. I run a slow DSL connection at home, streaming vid can be erratic. Saw this on a Newegg sale, decided to give it a try. Connectivity went from 2 - 3 bars to a regular 4+ bars. Connection is still a bit jerky but that's a bandwidth issue.
Did exactly what I needed
Pros: Simple setup. Good connectivity.
Cons: Base could be a bit heavier, cord could be a bit longer. But neither of these is a negative consideration.
Overall Review: I'm stuck in a sluggish 1.5meg DSL neighborhood, so my xFinity and Netflix stream was a bit jerky on my HTPC. My router is solid so I thought I'd throw a couple of bucks at this adapter to see if it would improve performance. And it did. I went from an average of 3.5 bars to 5 solid, and the jerkiness is almost gone.
Nice little bit of kit
Pros: Tiny size, simple install on XP, sees WEP, WPA2 networks (so far).
Cons: I'm afraid I'll lose it if I pull this out.
Overall Review: I bought this adapter to replace an old Linksys card in a non-networked Dell Inspiron 1000. Popped it in a rear port - it fits FLUSH - and installed the software and I was off to the races. Brought it into work to check - no probs - and over to the Starbucks to check a 3rd location - again, no probs. On sale at the Egg, under $10, heck of a deal.
Nice little drive!
Pros: Fast, quiet, no moving parts. Fan activity noticeably reduced, battery life increased by approximately 25%.
Cons: Writes seem to be a tad slow. Cost.
Overall Review: I installed this drive on an old Dell Inspiron 1000 laptop - 2.2 gig Celeron, 512MB RAM - and it's changed the character of the laptop completely. Boot times have been reduced by at least 50%, shut down time is phenomenally fast (<30 seconds, maybe). And there's a high-pitched "lobster scream" - bare audible but it wasn't there before so it has to be the drive. Not so bad it's interfering, but it's definitely there.
