Great mATX board for gaming/whatever
Pros: Handles FX chips with no issues whatsoever, as this is the revision 5 version of the board (black/gray). Small form factor, while still able to house a top end AMD cpu and gpu. Adequate ram capabilities (1333) Onboard video works fine for everything short of enthusiast gaming.
Cons: I would have really liked to see this board be capable of higher than 1333 ram speeds, but it still gives me no issues in battlefield 4, so I'm happy.
Overall Review: I have this paired with a FX6300 cpu, and r9 270x gpu, both of which it handles beautifully.
Performs well but large!
Pros: A r9 290 that actually cools adequately out of the box!
Cons: had to use a hacksaw to cut off part of the vram heatsink, as I couldn't fit this card in my silverstone rvz01b case otherwise (was contacting case's power cord
Overall Review: Great card! Would buy again. Much nicer than my HIS 290
Pros: I've had this attached to my fx8350 oc'd to 4.4 ghz, and to my r9 290 oc'd to 1100. In the case of the fx8350, even under max load the temperature was nice and cool, and with the r9 290 (via kraken g10) the temp rarely goes over 40c, even oc'd to 1100.
Cons: none, this is an awesome closed loop cooler, I plan on buying another when I crossfire a 2nd r9 290.
Good for gaming, not so much mining.
Pros: Excellent performance in demanding titles such as Battlefield 4. The IceQx2 cooler seems to perform adequately with minimal noise in most gaming applications.
Cons: When attempting to scrypt hash, this card completely disappoints me. As mentioned by one of the other reviewers here, saying that core temperatures when hashing are difficult to control is an understatement. This is sad, because with an effective hashrate of 880kh/s this could have been a nice supplement to my mini-farm.
Overall Review: If Liquid cooled with something like an EKWB block, I'd have zero complaints about this card. But as-is, it works great for gaming. I Have this mounted in my mATX build with the following: Coolermaster n200 mATX case GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3 mobo fx 6300 cpu 4x 2gb 1333 mhz ddr3 ram The size is NOT TOO MUCH FOR A mATX case that's correctly laid out, so ignore the comment above about this case requiring a fullsize tower! It's only about an inch longer than a r9 270x.
Exceeds Expectations
Pros: Easy setup, and no compatibility issues noticed. Bandwidth throughput is nice on all lanes. Low cost relative to performance
Cons: None
Overall Review: I'm quite happy with this purchase, and would recommend this router to anybody looking to be AC enabled, regardless of their budget.
Runs BF4/mining with no issues
Pros: Stable 470kh/s hashrate on every scrypt network I've thrown it onto. Runs BF4 on high settings across the board with no issues, and is only limited by the fx6300 I have it paired with. It runs almost-as-cool as my HIS iceq 7870 ghz's, and only takes up 2slots, instead of the 2.5 that my 7870's take up. (two 7870 ghz's take up all 5 slots of my 990FXA-UD5 board)
Cons: It does run a bit hotter than my 7870's, but that's to be expected with its axial fan design, instead of a blower. Axial fans are just much less efficient at pushing the heat out the back of the case, against the static resistance of the radiator.
Overall Review: Even given the inferior fan design that HIS is throwing at its newer cards, this one performs well at a blazing fast clockspeed. It's slim, and performs like an angry beast. I have this in my coolermaster n200 case, and it's a fine compliment to my mATX build. As stated before, it max's out the capabilities of my paired FX6300 in Battlefield 4, and seems to be the perfect compliment to any build that's fine with running 1080p on a single monitor.
