Yes. PCI Express 3.0 is backward compatable to all other versions of PCI Express. I build custom gaming pc's and this card is amazing. Go a little bigger than manufacturers recommendations for power supply because they dont know how many peripherals your installing, and if your using a card this powerful you've probably got more than one hard drive. I would say an Antec 1100 or larger and make sure its got two 6+2 (8pin) PCI Express connectors for EACH video card. Good luck and have fun!

I'm using a 750watts .. Specs on Power Consumption System in IDLE = 119W System Wattage with GPU in FULL Stress = 374W Difference (GPU load) = 255W Add average IDLE wattage ~10W Subjective obtained GPU power consumption = ~ 265 Watts p.s Keep in mine that's this doesn't included your other components hope this helped..

Does the HDMI on this unit support audio pass through, or is it just video only?

Yes is has audio pass through, when I had it connected to my TV, I ran the optical from my TV to my Receiver and still got 5.1.

can this be installed into a lenovo laptop?

Laptops do not have the ability to change out the graphic cards withought changing the whole motherbord as most of the graphics chips are soldered to the motherbord. This graphics card is ment for desktops, and is rather long. I actually had to buy a new case to hold it as mine was to short.

Will this fit inside a Phanteks Enthoo primo case?

How many CUDA cores does this card have?

The "Cuda Core" is a technology specific only to nVidia cards, however the "Stream Processor" which AMD uses, has a count of 2560 on this card. You can expect the R9 290 to have a performance level slightly better than an nVidia GTX 780, and slightly less than an nVidia GTX Titan.

Is have a 600W power supply with a simple custom built rig enough for this card?

It should be plenty but depends on how many other devices you have connected. I have an 850W Power Supply, 2 R9290's, hard drive, motherboard and CPU no other devices and it works great.

Will using 2 of these be able to run a 4k display?

You only need one of those cards to run in 4k. I have that exact card and it has the full-size displayport connector and its driving my Samsung 4k at 60 hz in games like Batman Arkham Origins and Witcher 2. You need a cable rated to display 4k so read the fine print before you buy.
