Huge Case

Antec Twelve Hundred Black Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case
Antec Twelve Hundred Black Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: This case has so much room to work with. I can put a ton of equipment inside and still have plenty of room for air flow. Very sturdy case with plenty of cable management options. The dust screens on the intakes are great too.

Cons: Maybe it's because they include so many, but this case seems to have a high rate of failing fans. Apparently they even shipped some with known bad fans. Mine came with one DOA fan but no extra. Antec quickly mailed me a replacement but about 8 months latter, a second fan died. I love the case but where is the QA on the fans?

Overall Review: I still recommend this case. Just be prepared to replace a fan or two, and if one dies, it shouldn't be too big of an issue as there are many others to pick up the slack.

Most Critical Review

3 for 12 (Update on 1 for 8)

OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ3P16004GK
OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ3P16004GK

Pros: DDR3, high speed, low latency. This memory performed pretty well when it worked.

Cons: *See 1 for 8* Only 1 good stick in my first 8 and only 2 good sticks in my last 4. After waiting a few more weeks and fighting their tech support, my latest 2 sets arrived (sticks 9-12). Of these 4 sticks, 1 will not post, 1 BSODs and shows errors in memtest and 2 come out clean in memtest. That brings my total to 3 good sticks out of 12 total. I have tested all 4 stick (individually) multiple times and every time the results are the same. I've also tried the bad sticks at more forgiving speeds and timings to no avail. I should also say that I do have two more sticks of Corsair that work just fine in my system. Honestly, I understand that things can go wrong. However, not only have they passed the normal rate, they have also passed the fluke rate. Given this, you'd think that maybe they would be apologetic and would rush to fix my issue ASAP. Nope. The last time I had to fight with them for a week just to get an RMA#. Then I had to pay for shipping and wait two more weeks.

Overall Review: There are other companies that I have liked better after RMAing one of their products because of how well they responded. It really makes a difference when you know for sure that a company will support their product and will do whatever they can to help you. Both I and everyone I know will never buy anything from OCZ again based on how poorly their performance has been. If you are thinking of buying this memory ask yourself, 'Do you feel lucky?' Well do you?

1 for 8

OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ3P16004GK
OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ3P16004GK

Pros: DDR3, high speed, low latency. This memory performed pretty well when it worked.

Cons: After about 8 months, 3 out of 4 sticks showed errors in memtest, but I could at least still get into windows. I had to RMA all 4 sticks because they are sold in sets. 2 weeks latter when I finally got 4 new sticks, 3 of the 4 showed errors in memtest, the 4th wouldn't even post, and I couldn't get into windows. The replacement mem was WORSE!!

Overall Review: I bought the first two sets separate from each other. Now I have to wait another 2 weeks because OCZ won't put a rush on my new bad mem despite being 1 for 8. Maybe I just got unlucky twice (technically 4 times because 4 sets), but it's enough for me to not trust OCZ anymore. You'd also think that after just screwing up a 2nd time (badly) they might say something other than "fill out a ticket".
