Antec’s Nine Hundred case was acclaimed for its combination of style and cooling design. The Twelve Hundred is an evolutionary improvement that capitalizes on the original design and adds even more for a design that can take whatever you throw into it. Even the largest 10.5” graphic cards like AMD’s Radeon HD 3870 x2 and Nvidia’s 9800 GX2 fit into any of the 7 expansion slots within its cavernous interior without limiting hard drive placement within any of the 12 bays. Mini ITX, Micro ATX or standard ATX motherboards likewise fit with ease.

A pair of three-speed 120mm blue LED fans exhaust heat out the rear of the case while a 200mm fan does so through the top. The speed of the fans, can be controlled from the outside of the case. Space and mounting points are provided for two more 120mm fans – one in the middle to cool the CPU or graphic card, and another bringing air in through the side panel to cool the expansion cards. Knockouts for liquid cooling systems are built in as is a platform for a reservoir or pump.

Because excess heat will kill any system, the case is designed to maximize cooling. The perforated front bezel offers maximum air intake by the trio of 120mm blue LED fans that pull air through the washable air filter. The front panel is finished off with top-mounted I/O ports for easily connecting an eSATA and a pair of USB 2.0 devices along with HD audio inputs and outputs.

  • newegg Increased Expansion With a total of 12 drive bays, you can expand your system to the limit
  • newegg Excellent Cooling The Antect Twelve Hundred comes equip with massive cooling options. A special 200mm fan on top, two rear 120mm fans , 3 front 120mm fans, 1 open slot for a side case fan, and one open slot for a middle fan give you ultimate cooling where you need it most.
  • newegg Cleanable Air Filters The cleanable air filters reduce dust build up on your expensive parts.

Huge case, just a little outdated though...

Pros: HUGE!!! You can fit just about any combo of board and video cards in here. Quiet case fans at low and medium speed. With a little ingenuity you can fit just about ANY AIO liquid coolers in here or a little more work a 360mm radiator custom loop. Solid, sturdy, will be working after multiple teardowns and rebuilds.

Cons: No USB 3.0 ports, what is this 1999? Without any modifications, hard to fit in an aftermarket AIO liquid cooling loops. I won't say weight, because if you have enough gear to fill up this case then any case you have will be on the heavy side. Yeah it is not the most convenient thing to clean the fan grills on front, but if you do not put all the screws back in on both sides, its not terribly hard, I used thumb screws on one side only for everything.

Overall Review: Underneath the 200mm top case fan, all you need to do is measure a couple of small drill holes to mount a 240 or 280 mm radiator, easy as pie. A little more patience and I have mounted a 240mm AIO loop on the back duel 120mm fan port openings. Remove the three hard drive cages and you can go with a 360mm custom radiator loop. I have had this case for about two years and it has gone through many configurations. Currently it is running an Asus Maximus VI Extreme, I&-4790k, 32 gigs of ram, triple GTX 780ti's, Corsair h115v2 on the top, OCZ 1250 watt gold psu. This case has been amazing from day one, but I am needing even more room to expand, custom duel liquid cooling loops....

Have fun cleaning the front fans!

Pros: Big space to work in.

Cons: No other cons than the things you have to go through to clean the front fans.
Let me walk you through the process.
1. unscrew both side panels
2. unscrew top fan
3. slide back top of case
4. unclip the front panel mold
5. Unscrew the fans
6. clean, redo process

Overall Review: Other than cleaning the front fans everything works fine.

Worth every penny! 1 Year ownership review.

Pros: Spacious
Ability to be modified
Cool looking lights at night
All around looks sturdy
Easily able to open and close to be able acess the goodies
washable/removable air filters (havent cleaned this in year tops*

Cons: You have to be able to compromise this rigs structure a bit to be able to make wonders come true!
Kinda heavy, but thats to be expected.
Wish there was an adapter for the 200mm to be able to fit some smaller exhaust.

Overall Review: Lastly, someone mention its difficult to liquid cool this baby, its true you're limited to a 200MM radiator fan, but with some snipping of the rear metal mesh i was able to slide in the tubing my plate for my liquid cooler and installed a 240mm radiator on the outside of my rig vs. inside and bolted it on. Worked really well!
I have a total of 7 fans and this computer came out Somewhat dusty. i didn't even bother cleaning it thoroughly just air dusted it and closed it.
Running a Asus Rampage V extreme, 5930k Haswell-E, 970 gtx MSI in SLI, 1k plat power supply, and 64gb of ddr4 ripjaws.
Running 4k UHD like a beast. with very cooled cards.
The box itself is sufficient cooling for mild gaming but i do reccomend getting more fans as cooler is better!

MrSpookypants Seal of Approval Winner

Pros: This thing has plenty of room for just about anything you want to throw in it, though I wasn't able to install a side fan while using the Coolermaster V8 CPU cooler; I had about 1/2" of clearance, which isn't enough for the side fan. It wound up being a moot point, because the onboard fans do a fantastic job of keeping everything cool. The fan controls are convenient, the fans are quieter than you'd expect, and the blue lighting just looks cool.

The cable management system is great, too. The interior of my case is much cleaner than it would have been in a different case.

Cons: This case is pretty heavy. With all my gear installed, I think this bad boy probably weighs in at around 60-70 lbs. If it's just going to sit in your house, it really doesn't matter, but if you travel to LAN parties and whatnot, start working out.

This may be a bit pricey for some people, but you get what you pay for here.

Overall Review: This is the finest case I've ever owned, and I'd buy another in a heartbeat. Don't skimp on your case... It's protecting all of the really expensive stuff inside, and this thing feels virtually bulletproof.

AMAZING

Pros: amazing case. endless opportunity. can fit any build as long as your not afraid to modify the case a bit.

Cons: none. i could nit-pick, but i won't

Overall Review: this is a 5 year update after my initial review. i have since bought 2 more 1200's for friend/family builds. even after trying several other cases, i will probably die, while still rockin this case. i have upgraded countless times using the 1200, and modded her many times. this case can do anything as long as u arent afraid to take a dremel to it. this case allows for a strong front to back wind-tunnel, especially when u add front secondary fans. air or aio or custom liquid builds can b done with minimal modding.
dont put all of the hard drive cage screws in, ppl complain about them, but u simply dont need all of them anyway. i installed a triple 120 magnetic filter over-top of the front of the case for a secondary filter which extends the time needed to clean the internal filters.

Whats not to love?

Pros: Fans, fans, fans! Roomy! Modular!

Cons: HEAVY!

Overall Review: This is a fantastic case for gamers or casual PCers. If you like to build and maintain your own PC, this is the ticket. Spendy but it's the last case you will ever need.

Great Case, but Liquid Cooled Setups are a Handicap for the Tower

Pros: - The case has loads of fans to keep almost anyone's system cool.
- The inside is very spacious.
- There's a 2nd side panel, which is used to clean up cables.

Cons: - The fans are very loud while operating at full power. At lower settings, they remain quiet.
- Very overpriced
- Liquid cooling setups are nearly impossible, as the only radiator that you can use is manufactured for this tower. It's only 200mm, and there is zero compatibility with other, more popular radiators, like the Corsair h100i Extreme Performance Cooler.

Overall Review: Even with all the flaws, it's still an excellent case for people using fan cooling setups.

Great Case

Pros: I have two dogs and a cat so hair is everwhere so filters are a must. My wifes computers clogged with hair, but mine just has a fine dust that can get through the filter but can easily be blown out. I used to have the huge air heats sinks (Scthe Ninja on an AMD FX60) which would fit with room to spare. Now I have an Antech water cooler mounted to the two 120mm fans in the back on a i5-3570k.

Cons: It is heavy but I don't move it around much. Filters take a while to clean, you can stick a vacuum in front and clean most of the junk out of the filter but to do it right start taking thumb screws out.

Overall Review: This is the second one I have bought. The first one I bought when they first came out. I ran it for years it went through many moves finally some of the fans gave up and one move got dented. So I bought a new one and keep the old one for parts if I loose something.

I'll buy another one years from now for my next build.
