Insane improvement from the Evo 212
Pros: I came from a push pull evo 212 configuration to this and I cannot emphasize enough how much more cooling power this setup provides. I have a fx 8350 overclocked to 4.7 with the 990FX UD3 board and would occasionally get temps in the the mid to high 60s while playing some intensive AAA games combined with my overclocked 290 producing crazy heat. With this cooler I am not getting over 48 degrees max and that is while running prime which my last cooler couldn’t even handle. I am basically getting 20 degrees cooler than the evo 212. I was able to overclock to 4.9 with temps in the mid 50s but don't like how much voltage I have to put in my chip so I am keeping it at 4.7. Additionally I lowered my fan curve significantly and now can barely hear the cooler compared to the Evo 212 under full load. I have always been skeptical of AIO liquid coolers but I had LEPA fans before that I loved and this was on sale for $55 with MIR so I said why not try. After installing and testing this cooler it just screams high quality so I feel very good about going with this brand over the more expensive corsair coolers.
Cons: Not really a con but these fans are insane, on max they push 103 CFM and are loud as you can imagine. In my setup at 4.7 they never get above 50% speed so I don't notice the noise but when I was testing prime and putting 1.54 volts in my chip these things are like NASA wind tunnels which helped keep the temps down in the mid 50s. I don't think there is an overclock setup that this cooler couldn't handle but you end up sacrificing chip life and quietness.
Overall Review: You will not be disappointed. LEPA is legit.
Pros: Overclocked full stable to 3333 15-16-16-35-1T 1.4v with a 7700k overclocked to 4.9 on the Hero IX board.
Cons: Was hoping for higher frequency during overclocking but seems to have stability issues with anything over 3333 unless you put a lot more voltage in. I could go higher voltage but don't feel comfortable long time. Still happy considering the overclock I got and knowing it is not Samsung B-Die.
Don't listen to the drones
Pros: I have owned this for 2 years and it simply dominates anything I throw at it. I have it overclocked to 4.7 with an evo 212 with no problems. Windows honestly feels faster with this than my work xeon processor.
Cons: Single thread isn't as fast, but that is old tech, the future is multi thread.
Overall Review: Very future proof, I game a lot and every year games are more multi thread and this is just as fast as intel with modern games.
Packs a serious punch
Pros: Was worried that the card would be hot and loud but it never gets above 75 degrees in my case and runs quiet. I play all new AAA games on ultra and its eats them for lunch. Huge upgrade from my 7850, can destroy any game under 1440p resolution. Get a graphics score of 11000 on firestrike with omega drivers stock. Much better bang for your buck than the 3.5 gb gtx 970, got mine on sale for 240 after rebate. Was able to overclock to 1150 mhz no problem.
Cons: Its not nvidia so you will be looked down upon by the masses and people who don't understand the basic concept of value or performance per dollar.
Overall Review: Its directx 12 compatible so it will be very future proof with next gen.
Extremely cool and efficient
Pros: I came from a seasonic built 80 plus psu and I can't believe how much more efficient and cool this thing runs. I stress tested a overclocked fx-8350 with a R9 290 at the same time and I could feel no noticeable heat coming out the back of this thing... simply amazing efficiency.
Cons: Not modular but not that big of deal
Overall Review: I have done a far amount of PSU research and fairly picky what I put into my machine and this thing is simply top notch. Antec makes great PSUs and I have never had an issue with them. This PSU is made by FSP and has similar components to their Aurum 92+ series which are very well built. Hardware Secrets did a review of the EA-650 Platinum which is basically the same PSU and they gave it a Golden Award so you know its legit. If it is on sale you need to jump on it.
