Beautiful Monitor
Pros: Pleasing design, clear colors and crisp picture. The red dot issue mentioned in earlier reviews has apparently been resolved.
Cons: The backlight bleeding as mentioned in other reviews is still present. However, I don't notice it unless the computer is displaying a pure black screen, so this doesn't really bother me.
Overall Review: If you use HDMI, the internal speakers will carry the sound without additional cables. This makes me wish the speakers were better.
Never disappointed with Asus
Pros: Worked straight out of the box, no problems. The BIOS is easy to work with and flash.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: I purchased DDR4 2800 with this board and it booted fine running at the system default of 2100. However Windows 8.1 would lockup during install. The simple remedy was to OC the RAM to it's spec of 2800. After that, Windows installed perfectly.
Excellent
Pros: I paired the Obihai with my voip.ms service and it WORKS LIKE A CHARM. voip.ms is pennies per call and I spend far less than any of the typical voip services like Vonage. Last I checked my call log it cost me just $3.50 for over 6 hours of talk time.
Cons: If you're not familiar with the nuts and bolts of voip services, it's a bit of a learning curve. Turning on the Keep Alive feature seemed to be a must for me.
Step in the right direction
Pros: Metro start screen and apps.
Cons: There is a learning curve and some Metro apps appear unfinished or are buggy.
Overall Review: The Metro interface is a step in the right direction and helps unify MS's GUI's across all their devices. Something Apple was probably going to do so, good for MS beating them to it. The Metro apps need work as some like the PDF Reader have no print options unless you hit CTRL+P.
Powerful and Reliable
Pros: Minimalist design, wall mountable and nice range.
Cons: GUI isn't the friendliest and diverts from what you are probably already familiar with.
Perfect for MS networks
Pros: This a great little device, especially for the price. Since it runs Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Essentials it can join your existing domain without any need for 3rd party LDAP connectors. You can use the provided configuration utility for just login to the device using RDP. Fast file transfers over my gig lan. You can even setup DFS and have it participate with your file servers!
Cons: No iSCSI No rackmount formfactor Can't delete default folders without it complaining
