Solid RAM sticks

CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Memory Kit Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9R
CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Memory Kit Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9R

Pros: Red, I wanted something other than blue-green just for a bit of contrast on the MOBO. 1600 is good enough for me, 8GB for this price is excellent. I think these are my first Crucial RAM sticks I've used.

Cons: None

Overall Review: I was worried that the heat spreaders on this RAM would interfere with my massive Coolermaster V6 CPU cooler. Fortunately my ASUS P8Z68-V PRO Z68 MOBO uses slots A2 & B2 for 2 RAM sticks. It would have been a problem if it was A1 & B1, A1 is right next to the CPU. Anyway it all worked out great for me, the RAM fits perfectly and does the job. WD Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
WD Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Relatively cheap, both drives failed so I decided to build entirely new PC.

Cons: 0-100 on reliability these get a big fat 0

Overall Review: I bought 2 of these on sale. The first one out of the box had SMART errors. The second one was fine until 2 months later when it also started getting SMART errors. Both drives increasingly got worse and worse filling up with bad clusters until my PC was no longer usable. So I'm trying my luck with Seagate and Hitachi. Previously had a WD Raptor die on me, never had a problem with WD before but now I'm staying away from them. I think hard drives these days are massed produced to such an extent that quality control is non-existent. If you buy these I wish you the best of luck.

Good value, performance

MSI 27.0 180Hz Rapid IPS FHD Gaming Monitor NVIDIA G-Sync 94% Adobe RGB / 98% DCI-P3 / 134% sRGB G274PF

Cons: It's not really a con, but be careful if you try to VESA mount this to an arm. I bought a cheap arm and had to McGyver this thing onto it.

Overall Review: I'm pretty happy with my purchase. This is a solid monitor for a fair price. Up to 180 Hz is no problem. I use it as a secondary monitor mounted on an arm, and it looks amazing. My old secondary was 60 Hz and used DVI, which was super old. This one is nice and new with a modern feature set. I'll take it.

She's a biggie!

Cooler Master V6 GT - CPU Cooler with Dual 120 mm PWM Fans and 6 Heatpipes
Cooler Master V6 GT - CPU Cooler with Dual 120 mm PWM Fans and 6 Heatpipes

Pros: Keeps my Intel Core i7-2600K 3.4GHz nice and cool. Low noise, I can barely hear this thing which makes me very happy. Works with LGA 1155 boards, although the instructions only indicate 1156. Well made, both fans can be removed easily.

Cons: There's an extra MOLEX, I'm still not sure what it's for. The two fans plug right into the MOBO, but then there is a 3rd cable with a MOLEX, 3 cables is a bit much.

Overall Review: This thing is really really big. I read the reviews and thought yeah sure how big could it be... but no, it really is a big one! Make sure you have a big case for this one, I'm using the Coolermaster HAF and it fits just right. Does the job

Crucial M4 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CT128M4SSD2
Crucial M4 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CT128M4SSD2

Pros: So far so good SDD, easy install, fast, stable, reliable (so far). I decided to buy this over the Vertex 3 because this seemed more stable & reliable. Maybe a bit slower but I wanted an SSD that works. BTW this is my first SSD.

Cons: Doesn't come with the adapter. I bought the Bytecc Internal 2.5" to 3.5" adapter/mounting kit. Worked great with my Coolermaster case. You can actually mount 2 SSDs with each adapter.

Overall Review: Installed W7-64bit Ultimate, made sure BIOS AHCI mode was enables under SATA. Full install took about 12 minutes, not bad. :) I'm using the 64GB SSD for my OS and Office/Adobe type apps. The 128 SSD for FS9/FSX and I use an old school 1TB for data storage/games/movies.
