Great Gift

Pros: I got this as a present for my father for Xmas and he is no tech person. Yet he was able to get right into it and figure out the UI quite quickly. The screen is a nice size and the automated voice is quite clear. It is also nice that they repeat directions and don't say "turn right in X miles" once. They keep you updated so you don't look at it as much and keep your eyes on the road. Also my father is deaf in his right ear but he can hear the voice quite well. In short: -Good Size screen -Good sounding voice (human like) -Loud -UI is great for even the least tech savvy people
Cons: Nothing you can't avoid, signal gets lost under tunnels but is quickly reacquired once out.
Overall Review: These are really just ways they should improve these, as I have seen lots of these come to market but they need to take a big leap. -The UI should be updated to something more stream lined - The touch screen doesn't feel as good as, say, an iPhone, but it gets the job done - This screen is considered on the larger end, they should make this size the minimum standard.
Great Case!

Pros: - Simple to install a HDD - Great way to use old HDDs as externals - I even managed to jerry-rig an external DVD drive to it, so, hypothetically you could buy a less expensive internal drive and use parts from this to create an external. But I would not recommend this, just a fun fact.
Cons: It's a little heavy, and not the best ventilation, but I have a Green HDD in there that runs at a lower temp, so no problem there.
Overall Review: It uses USB A to B, all my other externals use a USB mini, means I can't swap cables :(
Going Green

Pros: I bought this as a scratch drive, where I can keep some video and photography work. It has been working like a charm. I put it in a Rosewell case and formatted it exFat so that I can use it with both my Mac and my PC. Currently I am transferring files from my WD500GB external and it is handling the transfer quickly and quietly. Also It will spin down if I don't use it within 5 or so minutes, possibly a green feature, but it spins up nice and quickly when I start accessing it again. In short: - Quick and quiet - Plenty of room for files - Works great for any OS - It's Western Digital - Was not too expensive for 1.5 tb
Cons: -Not actually 1.5 tb, as with all HDDs they aren't labeled the way computers see them. But that's something we can't change.
Does the job

Pros: Works like a charm, I bought it to be partitioned into 3 parts, vista back up, mac back up, and then a storage area for other files so I can grab them between my computers. I haven't had any problems except low space now-a-days. But I can use SyncToy to help keep it up to date aswell.
Cons: The light is kind of bright at night, a little duct tape fixes that.
Overall Review: I bought this model over the USB only model and realized I would have just done fine with a USB only model instead of getting Firewire with this one. Oh well.
