Great for HTPC

Pros: *Quiet *Easy Installation *Audio over HDMI without the need for extra cable connections
Cons: None
Overall Review: It's quiet, powerful enough for any normal/HD video, and does audio over HDMI. Perfect for an HTPC. I didn't have to do anything special to get the audio working over HDMI on Windows 7 - it installs an Nvidia HDMI audio device and it worked perfectly after installing the normal display drivers from nvidia.com.
Both monitors defective

Pros: Good picture quality, great for gaming. Reasonable support from samsung.
Cons: I purchased two of these monitors about 6 months ago...After 3 or 4 months one started flickering when it first was turned on. It progressively got worse and worse until the monitor stopped working completely. Samsung's support website was slow and worthless, but their phone support was exceptional. I got my RMA without much hassle, and they told me I'd have a repaired monitor in about a week and a half. About 4 weeks later I finally received it. Now the second monitor is flickering, so I get to go through the whole process over again. My other complaint about this monitor is that there is a LOT of light bleeding around the edges of the monitor. For me, this is most noticeable during the Vista startup screen, but people who watch a lot of video would probably be very irritated.
Overall Review: My friend told me I'd regret getting a Samsung and I should get an Acer instead. He's been proven right twice, and that irks me as much as the defective monitors themselves.
Spun up but wouldn't format

Pros: None
Cons: DOA
Overall Review: I took a chance on a refurbished drive since I wasn't going to store anything important on this one. I think that prejudice was confirmed when this one arrived DOA - I would definitely never use one of these drives for important data. The hard drive spun up and was recognized by the OS, but it would fail with generic messages when partitioning and formatting it. The shipping cost to send it back to newegg was nearly half of what I paid for the drive. Unfortunately no refunds, so hopefully the manufacturer actually bothered testing the next one I get.
